Casper isn't such a friendly ghost after all. Not only is Weston Pointe beating me like a rented mule in Diamond league, they just took me out of a tournament in the QF scoring 4 runs in the 11th inning of game seven. Congrats and can you take the rest of the week off? :)

Krikkit Takes Control of OL G325

The War Robots played well in a light schedule and set themselves up as the team to beat in 2034. With so few games, I wondered if we had a race at all, so I looked ahead and the league gets busier over the final two months and only Jefferson Valley, which has finished their short schedule, is out of it. Both Asylum and Bluffton would need to tilt heavily toward the win column, but it is still doable for either. Annandale plays the most, with 17 games still to play. Terra Incognita could work their short schedule to great advantage by taking two from Bluffton to post a .600 final number, which might get it done this season.
Anyway, since I checked, here are the remaining schedules: Annandale - 3 vs ASK, 4 @ KWR, 4 vs ASK, 3 @ BLU, 3 @ ASK Asylum - 3 @ AAS, 4 @ AAS, 3 vs AAS Bluffton - 2 @ TIR, 3 vs AAS Krikkit - 4 vs AAS, 3 @ AAS Terra Incognita - 2 vs BLU In PT play, middling result continue. |

Kansas still leads the pack. The biggest movers yesterday were Cary (11-5) and Hidden Valley (7-2). Kansas has 9 games remaining 3 vs Shinbone and 6 vs Palolo.

Silver league update:
Port Ruppert claims sole possession of the lead, but only by percentage points as Waffletown and Left Coast remain hot on their heels. Overall, only Port Ruppert holds a post season spot with the top wild card spot. |
I159 updatings...
Otonokizaka are the only OL team currently leading their division. Cochise County and Asheboro hold down wildcards. Vlora is in the wildcard hunt, and Daytona Beach is on the fringes of contention. A lot to play for with everyone still very much alive. Listed below are current OL records as well as remaining schedule. Asheboro 4-2 (.667) (4 vs Daytona Beach) Daytona Beach 7-4 (.636) (2 @ Vlora, 4 @ Asheboro) Cochise County 11-8 (.579) (7 @ Vlora, 3 vs Vlora, 3 vs Otonokizaka) Otonokizaka 5-5 (.500) (3 @ Cochise County, 4 vs Vlora) Vlora 3-11 (.214) (7 vs Cochise County, 3 @ Cochise County, 4 @ Otonokizaka) |
Well, after selling off my TOTD speculation cards, Kansas and Hidden Valley both made some additions. I also missed on a number of speculations unfortunately too, but the gains outweighed the losses by a margin. Also Oscar sold for 25k over L7 too. Kansas was able to finish up SE Jackie, so they have SE Jackie, Willie Wells and Cristobal added from the NL collection. They also added Jerry Reuss, and then Bobby Mathews. They are 2 cards shy of the SE Cap Anson so just waiting for some appropriately priced cards to show up so they can add him.
Hidden Valley added SE Rickey Henderson to play vsL in LF and generally 4th OF/pinch runner. They also benefited from everyone selling off their normal Cap Ansons to get the SE so i bought one at 150k and he's my new 1b. Hope it helps them in their playoff push. |
Krikkit has Nearly Won the War in OL G325

The War Robots have whittled their magic number down to two, the same number as enemies still standing. Both Asylum and Annandale need lengthy win streaks and a slumping Krikkit to prevail in a 2034 crown chase that is all but locked up.
In PT play, OL results might be described as underwhelming, with Terra Incognita flirting with relegation. The attached tables tell the tale. That her face, at first just ghostly... |
Diamond-Kansas Clinches The Crown
3 Attachment(s)
Kansas will walk away with the crown in diamond this week regardless of the outcome of their last 3 OL games vs the Puppies. Weston Pointe and Cary each have 10 games left but not even running the table with Kansas dropping all three will be enough. Congrat to Kansas on a great season.
Speaking of Kansas- they own a 9.5 game lead in the AC Central with Hidden Valley clinging to the second wildcard spot. Over in the NC Weston Pointe and Cary lead their respective divisions. Coney Island and Highland have a remote outside chance each 3.5 back in the wildcard but one them will need to play over their heads to make that a reality. As I look at my Warriors I set a goal to be a .500 team, not likely to happen but a tip of the cap to the OL teams. The Warriors are 15-26 in OL play and 51-41 against the rest. Once this is posted I am off to open the packs they earned this week including a historical they won yesterday. Hoping for something juicy-I have enough left to add a pitcher which needs to be the focus since one player isnt going to improve the offense enough. Good luck to all in the playoff hunt today. |

Silver league update:
Left Coast surges to the top of the standings heading into the final month. overall, Port Ruppert remains the only OL team in a playoff position. Left Coast and Waffletown sit 3.5 games back of the second wild card spots. |
It's Over! Krikkit Cops G325 Crown
The first four games on the schedule today featured Asylum visiting Annandale for four games. The Keepers won the first two, eliminating the Atom Smashers, who returned the favor by winning the next two, clinching it for the War Robots.

If nobody minds, I'm ready to move the Blitzkrieg Boppers back into OL. They're tired of taking a beating in the wild. They are in bronze, but are in danger of relegation to iron. As always, zero dimes have been spent on them and they have no live or future legend cards.
They've reverted to old type and are once again an 80's theme team (and Jackie Robinson (non-SE), because I said so).. If approved, they will undergo their official -OL addition on Sunday and will revert back to their familiar logo, because I was lazy in putting it back on after it got reset. :p Username: retro80s |
Took a quick survey...

I can never have enough Magus, but I'm biased. An informal poll of some of the folks playing at the backyard barbecue seems to concur with me. Bring back the Boppers!

I159 update...
- Otonokizaka (93-65) have clinched the AC East and still have a shot to be the #1 seed. Asheboro (91-67) will host the NC Wildcard round. - Cochise County (83-75) are hanging on in the AC West. Vlora (81-77) are still on the fringes of the wildcard hunt, but are closer in the division. No guarantees that either make it. - Daytona Beach (77-81) will stay in Iron for sure, as they cannot make the playoffs. The OL standings are almost complete. I say almost because Otonokizaka goes to Vlora for 4 games. The Muse still have a hope of winning the crown, but they must sweep. Anything less, and it's Asheboro's crown. Standings are pictured below, as well as scenarios for each situation. Otonokizaka Sweep: Otonokizaka (11-6) finish at .647 and win the crown. Vlora (12-18) end at .400 and fall to 5th. Otonokizaka take 3 of 4: Otonokizaka (10-7) finish at .588 and tie with Daytona Beach for 2nd, Vlora (13-17) finish at .433 and fall to 5th. Asheboro win the crown. Series Split: Otonokizaka (9-8) finish at .529 and remain 3rd. Vlora (14-16) finish at .466 and remain 4th. Asheboro win the crown. Vlora take 3 of 4: Otonokizaka (8-9) fall to .470 and finish 4th. Vlora (15-15) move to .500 and finish 3rd. Asheboro win the crown. Vlora Sweep: Otonokizaka (7-10) fall to .411 and finish 5th. Vlora (16-14) move to .533 and finish 3rd. Asheboro win the crown. |
Asheboro wins the Iron crown after Vlora defeats Otonokizaka in game 2 of their series.
Also, Blitzkrieg beat the drop in bronze, so they will join OL there. |
One last post for the night...Otonokizaka ended up taking 3 out of 4 from Vlora, but again the loss in game 160 of the season cost them the crown. The Muse finish at 10-7 with a .588 win%, tied with Daytona Beach for 2nd in OL. Vlora end up 13-17 (.433) and finish last.
Cochise County ended up winning the AC West (86-76). Vlora (82-80) miss out. |
Krikkit Coasts to Crown in OL G324
2 Attachment(s)
The War Robots are the only team to end up north of .500 to capture the crown in OL G324. There was little drama as the last two contenders, Asylum and Annandale, took turns eliminating each other in the first series of the final month.
In PT play it was much the same, as the War Robots were the only OL team with a winning record at 90-72. The Atom Smashers won their division at 80-82. There will be no relegations. |
