10 June 2299 - Egret-Sunshine Tidings Trade: Thompson for Bertha

The Ninjas and Chemists pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 20-year-old minor league 3B Cy Thompson, a 5th round draft pick and a 3rd round draft pick head to Sunshine Tidings in exchange for 22-year-old LHP Tony Bertha, 21-year-old minor league RF Bat Savelli, 21-year-old minor league LF Ben Baskethat and a 3rd round draft pick. A source close to Egret officials said "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs."

In 12 starts this season Bertha has rung up a 7-2 record and a 2.70 ERA.

10 June 2299 - Hancocks, Duck Blast Gunners, 13-1

The Goodneighbor Hancocks coasted to a win over the Quincy Gunners, 13-1. Good Don Duck had a good day at the plate for Goodneighbor. He went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Goodneighbor raised its record to 35-14 with the win.

With Goodneighbor leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Duck came up to bat against Quincy pitcher Joey Dimes. Duck hit a changeup to right for a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Hancocks on top, 4-0.

Said losing manager Kevin Banner: "Give the Hancocks credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."

10 June 2299 - Ashfire HR-Happy in 5-4 Win

The 5-4 Atom win over Warwick was due in large part to Will Ashfire. The Cats first baseman belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Chris Leggman nailed down his 4th save. The win puts Atom at 14-35.

Ashfire had a timely hit for Atom in the bottom of the eighth. With Warwick trailing 4-3, he turned a full count cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Atom.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ashfire told the Atom Citizen.

10 June 2299 - Dominant Performance by Fusion in Diamond City Win

Diamond City Swatters starter Tim Fusion turned in a top-notch performance against the Vault 81 Dwellers at The Great Green Jewel. The result was a win for the Swatters, 4-1. Josh Samm locked down his 23rd save. The South Charles Association Railroad League-leading Swatters have a record of 35-14.

Vault 81 could barely put a dent in Fusion. The left-hander tossed 98 pitches over 8 innings for the Swatters, allowing only 3 hits.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Fusion said.

10 June 2299 - Assaultrons Lose By a Run at Nordhagen Beach, 6-5

Nordhagen Beach beat Easy Town at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Brian Masterson. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tom Mannequin finished to wrap up his 3rd save. The Party Boys improved to a lofty 35-14.

Nordhagen Beach took a 5-4 lead on C3-88 Puppetboy's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Puppetboy hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Easy Town pitcher Smoker Caliman shaking his head.

"It was a solid team effort," said Masterson after the game.

10 June 2299 - Silver Shroud Win at Starlight, 4-2

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud got a strong performance from pitcher Mike Cartrette, who stymied the Starlight offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Valentine Detective Agency Field. Getting the save was Curtis Thriceshot, his 12th. Fort Hagen is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Fort Hagen used a well-timed hit by Ben Pawlak to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Silver Shroud ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Cartrette said.

11 June 2299 - Four T-51s Victimize Ninjas in 18-6 Win

Ginger Rogers impressed in the 18-6 Oberland win over Egret. Rogers, who is tied for 2nd in the SCA in RBI with 49, was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Rogers was Game MVP, but three of his teammates could have been as well.

Jeremy Bugs also produced four runs, going 3 for 4 with a home run, a walk, two runs, and four RBI. Matt Dealer was 4 for 5 with a double, two runs, and two RBI. Chris Milteer was 3 for 5 with a homer, three runs, and three RBI. Jonathan Abern also added a home run in the 22-hit explosion.

"We hit like there is no tomorrow or next week," T-51s manager Dirk Steadyhand said.

Oberland pitcher Matt Udder got the win, upping his record to 7-4. Danny Cautious got the loss. With the win, Oberland raised its record to 28-22.

Rogers had a key at-bat for Oberland early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and gave Oberland an early 4-1 lead.

Rogers told a Oberland Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

11 June 2299 - Violet Slugs Lady Killers to 11-9 Win

The Starlight Lady Killers downed the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, 11-9, at Valentine Detective Agency Field. Zeldolph Violet led the way, going 3-for-4 for Starlight with two home runs, two runs, and four RBI. Larry Undertaker collected save number 13. With the win, Starlight pushed its record to 25-25, seven games back of the Silver Shroud.

Had Skinny Danner not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Danner hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 11-9, in favor of the Lady Killers.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Starlight manager Eric Bendure.

11 June 2299 - 10-Run 8th Pushes Party Boys to 11-1 Win

Nordhagen Beach third baseman Jon Hitman had a 5-RBI performance, all coming in the 8th inning, which helped his team down the Easy Town Assaultrons, 11-1. Julian Shed earned the win to go to 4-4. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Nordhagen Beach has 3 straight wins with the sweep, Easy Town 4 straight losses.

Nordhagen Beach took a 4-0 lead on Hitman's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Ray Housecat in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Nordhagen Beach to the win.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Hitman.

Leading 1-0 heading into the second-to-last inning, the Boys decided to get busy with their bats. Rookie sensation Jonathan Angelou led off the inning with a single and stole second. After Housecat intentionally walked Dustin Mart, Hitman hit his home run to make the score 4-0.

Geoff Obstinant then came on for the Assaultrons but could do no better. C3-88 Puppetboy walked. Pointie Shroud hit a two-out single after a flyout. Dirty Dog Sapienza walked to load the bases, and Brian Masterson got an RBI walk for a 5-0 lead. Angelou then got his second hit of the inning, a two-RBI double. After Michael Fogcrawler walked to reload the bases, Mart hit a two-RBI single for a 9-0 advantage.

Daddy-O Sixx then came in to try to get the last out, but Hitman got his second big hit, a two-RBI double for the 11-0 lead. Puppetboy then struck out to finally stop the bleeding.

"You can't win games if you're pitching is that bad," Easy Town manager Graham Route said. "We're just bad right now, really, really bad."

11 June 2299 - Dwellers Come Up Short at Diamond City, 5-4

The Diamond City Swatters racked up a win at The Great Green Jewel, bumping off the Vault 81 Dwellers, 5-4. X10-44 Mannson, who started for Diamond City, pitched effectively for his team. Diamond City leads the South Charles Association Railroad League by 8 games.

In the bottom of the third, Wally Warwick delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Diamond City shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Swatters in front, 5-4.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Warwick told the Diamond City News.

11 June 2299 - Hancocks Trounce Gunners, 13-3, Complete Road Sweep

Goodneighbor right-hander John Oldsink pitched his team to victory over the Quincy Gunners at The Stone House. The final score was 13-3. The win for the Hancocks raised their record to 36-14.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Burtie Cuttooth? The Goodneighbor shortstop had a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Hancocks on top, 2-0. For the game, Cuttooth had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's a mindset," said Oldsink. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

Jumper Hayes was 4 for 6 with three runs scored. John Rose went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs, and an RBI.

Speaking of things that make me go hmmm, those all star voting numbers with the Wasteland population numbers... each team must have a skilled computer hacker fudging the numbers ;)

Also the specific combination of games/wins/losses recently posted made me think, while we're all talking about all our favorite teams doing well at the same time this year, and how it might be less than ideal for the same teams to always get all the attention, let us spare a moment of our thoughts for the Dwellers and Lady Killers who were competitors the first season but have since fallen both from our graces and apparently don't quite have what it takes to be in the conversation anymore.

Yeah, I was too lazy to remove the votes, so it is what it is, I guess.

I would say Starlight has a chance to make the playoffs, but they had better start getting better at winning soon. Four games back of the wildcard is not that bad, but they just can't seem to win consistently. I will only make trades if they are rolled to trade, but I wonder if the AI won't go into "Win now" mode since they have a lot of players they can deal from their minor league team. They had better make more moves before it's too late, though!

For the Dwellers, they just underperform. They seem to have a lot of talent, especially with their bats, but they are in the bottom half of all offensive categories except stolen bases.

2299 - Week 10 - The Week in Review

5 Attachment(s)
Analysis

The defending CBO champions, the Goodneighbor Hancocks, have risen to the top slot in the CBO this week for the first time this season thanks to a 4-1 week, including a road sweep at Minutemen League second-place Quincy (now #8).

With Nordhagen Beach, Diamond City, and Fort Hagen remaining near the top, only Abernathy entered the Top 5 this week, going 3-2 with a sweep at The Slog (#9) and a home series loss versus Sunshine Tidings (#14). The Gunners fell out of the Top 5.

There is one strange jump up the rankings that makes us question the BNN rankings this week. The Slog (#9), whom we featured recently, had a 2-3 week after they broke their 7-game losing streak to win their last two at County Crossing (#19). As terrible as they have been of late, going 3-7 in their last 10 and moving from fighting the Party Boys for the Brotherhood League title to fighting to hold on to the wildcard slot over Salem. If there is any team that does not belong in the CBO's Top 10, especially moving up four spots this week, then the Ghouls are that team.

The Nuka Tour

Your introduction to Nuka-World and Bradberton

by Evan Guy

12 June 2299 - Part 1: Galactic Zone

This story is lifted straight from a terminal. You can find it on the intranet at https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Galactic_Zone, slightly altered to fit StLee's universe

2072-2288: Space Madness!

The Galactic Zone opened in 2072 and was the last of the parks to open before the bombs fell in the Great War. John-Caleb Bradberton wished to bring customers a taste of the future with the Galactic Zone and it ended up being the most popular attraction at Nuka-World during the time of its opening. This park featured a unique collaboration between the Nuka-Cola Corporation, Vault-Tec Corporation and RobCo Industries, among other companies.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615232930

The Nuka-Galaxy attraction of the Nuka-Cola Corporation took park guests on a space adventure through a roller coaster spanning a galaxy while helping Nuka-Girl fight off aliens. Vault-Tec's Among the Stars attraction showed guests a glimpse of preparing for the future with Vault-Tec vaults being used to colonize distant planets and RobCo's RobCo Battlezone demonstrated the latest and greatest in robot technology to guests in an arena pitting various robot models against each other.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615232930

Since the Great War, this section of the park became a ground for traders from Nuka-Town USA to acquire scrap materials for use and trade. Eventually the traders came across Star Control and its star cores. Kendell Alston, thinking his daughter Tiana Alston's explanation that the cores were 'redundant' meant they were okay to take and sell, started gathering the cores up. However, it was around this time that Colter and his raider gangs took over Nuka-Town, leading to the idea that Star Control's defensive mode would be able to save them.

Shortly thereafter, they came to realize that they had taken too many cores and that it was unsafe to activate that setting. Despite Tiana's warning, Kendell would activate Star Control before the cores could be regathered in order to safely activate it. As the robots and defenses in the park came online, they began attacking the traders within the Galactic Zone. Tiana and the remaining traders eventually perished while trying to make a break for the gates to escape the zone. Their remains now lie just outside of the entrance for anyone visiting the Galactic Zone to discover.

2288-2299: Space Gladness

Full of space-themed fun, the Galactic Zone has more individual attractions than any other park in Nuka-World. An enclosed amusement park, filled with advanced robots: Mr Frothies, eyebots and Nukatrons. Directly across from the main entrance is the Starport Nuka ride, with the Starlight Interstellar Theater to the southern side, neighboring Vault-Tec: Among the Stars and the RobCo Battlezone and Nuka-Galaxy in the northern half.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615232948

Nuka-Galxy: Nuka-Galaxy was an attraction completed with the rest of the Galactic Zone in 2072. It boasted a lengthy and dynamic rollercoaster track, modeled as a counter-attack led by Nuka-Girl against attacking aliens. Throughout the ride, robots can be found combating animatronic aliens, while turrets attached to UFOs attack but never strike the rider.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615232948

RobCo Battlezone: The Battlezone was intended to provide park guests with a gladiatorial combat experience between various RobCo robot models. While the arena was marketing as showcasing unique RobCo prototypes, it soon became obvious to viewers that the combatants were standard RobCo models with largely cosmetic modifications.

Starlight Interstellar Theater: The Starlight Interstellar Theater, from parent company Starlight Theaters, is a part of the Galactic Zone in Nuka-World. Before the Great War, the management of the theater was frustrated with their situation, specifically because of lazy employees and their bartender being a sentry bot with no hands.

Starport Nuka: Starport Nuka was a museum of military and space-like technology. It was from here that all of the Galactic Zone robots were controlled and monitored before the Great War. The building houses a suit of custom Quantum X-01 power armor on display to guests. Due to having a sponsorship by the U.S. Military, Nuka-World managed to get this power armor early on, before the Great War. There is also an elevator with an observation deck with a view of a good portion of the park, which is only available after restoring power to the park.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615232930

Vault-Tec: Among the Stars: The attraction was opened as a way to attract customers to purchase spots in vaults. Vault-Tec sales staff were instructed to manipulate potential applicants by making them feel like part of the Vault-Tec family and handing out brochures such as "Mutations: It Could Happen To You" and hidden monitoring rooms made it clear that the ride was also used to experiment on visitors and staff through Project Consumer Guidance.

Luis Bateman, the project's lead, oversaw five experiments that were tested on visitors and staff. The first experiment was brainwave disruption, which used radiation scrubbers to emit an electromagnetic field that caused interference in the brainwave patterns of subjects. The second used audio emitters to generate varying degrees of subliminal suggestions overlaid with a special frequency, while the third released an airborne toxin from genetically-modified flora. The fourth experiment modified the exhibit's reactor to emit theta-band radiation in short, low doses. The final one used the previous four experiments on the attraction's staff, including Hodgson, Grunner, Langston, Dallas, and Bartlebee.

J. Hodgson, the Operations Engineer for the attraction, reported abnormal behavior by visitors, before experiencing headaches, nosebleeds, and memory loss. C. Grunner, the Theta Radiation technician involved in the experiment, locked the doors to the monitoring room after suspecting that Bateman had piped the radiation into the monitoring room. Later, R. Langston, the Subliminal Suggestions technician who operated in the same monitoring room, burst in to warn him of the bombs. Langston was then shot by Grunner, who then committed suicide.

There are other rides and attractions, too: ArcJet G-Force, Blast Off!, Handy Whirl, Nuka Rockets, Spacewalk, and Splashdown.

12 June 2299 - Part 2: Galactic Zone

Team name: Quartz Star Force

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615234020

Stadium: Star Core Stadium at the Galactic Zone

Team President: Phil Roller

Phil is in charge of the "alignments" at the Hubologist camp, which are conducted using a "zeta equalizer" that clears the participant of their "neurodynes." Before one can be strapped into the chair to be treated, they must donate an increasing number of caps based on their AHS level.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615234046

Following Nate Howard freeing Nuka-World of the raiders and getting the robots back into working order, the Hubologists, previously disappointed that they could not fly into space in a spaceship, instead agreed to manage the virtual space park, the Galactic Zone. Dara Hubbell manages the park, while Phil Roller runs the baseball team.

Team Nickname: Star Force, featuring Nuka-Girl

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615234020

Nuka-Girl was a promotional character for the Nuka-Cola Corporation originally created as early as 2062. She is depicted on posters in a pin-up style as a blonde woman in a skimpy spacesuit with her raygun, the Thirst Zapper, paired with matching black gloves, thigh-high heeled boots, and belt with holster. A red line accents the side of the spacesuit and the the gloves. After a lawsuit that settled against the Nuka-Cola Corporation for use of Nuka-Cola's bottle design allowed them to rebrand starting with the product itself. Nuka-Cola would take a radical change to Nuka-Cola's image to a Space Age theme with bottles taking on the shape of a rocketship. To compliment the new rocket ship bottle, Nuka-Girl would begin to see reuse because of her glove-like fit with the Space Age theme.

Players to Watch

LF Spot Needlewind (.255/3/19)

Originally picked by the Lexington Synths in the 27-round of the 2296 CBO Inaugural Draft, Needlweind bounced from the Synths to the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud before finding himself on the Star Force. He signed with Quartz in April after being released by the Shroud. He saw action in 14 games in the CBO in 2296, but spent all of 2297 and 2298 with the C.I.T. Ruins Refractors. He is a power-hitting left fielder, leading Quartz in average and RBI.

SP Laurence Crash (6-2, 0.98)

One of the top pitchers in the NWL, Crash originally found his way to the Boston Commonwealth from a different part of the Commonwealth, Connecticut. He has a high-velocity fastball that has been tough for NWL batters to catch up to. He could improve his control, but he shows good movement on his curveball and changeup.

13 June 2299 - Tostado Rips 2 Home Runs, Pigeonfoot 3 in 12-5 Synths Triumph

Crooked Tostado left his imprint on the 12-5 Lexington win against the Easy Town Assaultrons. Tostado, who is tied for 8th in the NCA in extra base hits with 27, hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4. Mike Pigeonfoot also contributed, going 3 for 4 with 3 home runs, a walk, 3 runs, and 6 RBI. Pigeonfoot's 3 homers tied the NCA and CBO record with Nordhagen Beach's Michael Fogcrawler.

Chris Glass House notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 5 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Easy Town has now lost 5 in a row.

Early in the game, center fielder Pigeonfoot had a 3-run home run for Lexington. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Synths on top, 4-3.

Pigeonfoot brutalized the Easy Town pitching staff. The Lexington Synths center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.

"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."

"Too much Mike Pigeonfoot today," Assaultrons manager Graham Route said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."

Pigeonfoot hit a three-run home run off David Hill in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Hill in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ray Housecat in the 6th, and struck out in the 8th.

Batting .219 to date in a down year, Pigeonfoot has 8 home runs and 24 RBIs.

13 June 2299 - Bishop Fuels 8-1 Diamond City Triumph

Swatters third baseman Allen Bishop put his stamp on his team's 8-1 win over the University Point Deathclaws. Bishop was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for Diamond City in the contest. With the victory, the Swatters upped their record to 37-14.

With Diamond City leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Bishop hit a forkball from Gary Stallworth for a 2-run double. It was his 20th double of the season and put the Swatters ahead, 4-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bishop said.

In addition to Bishop's masterful day, Diamond City starter Tyler Powers also stood out. The 30-year-old allowed just one earned run on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 8.0 innings to move to 7-2 on the season.

13 June 2299 - T-51s Snatch Late Win

The Oberland T-51s overcame a good performance by Goodneighbor first baseman Bryan Assman to knock off Goodneighbor, 8-6, at Graygarden Park. Assman went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Oberland reliever Matt Breakball got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Quincy Eloquent was tagged with the loss. Oberland raised its record to 29-22 with the win.

Had Jeremy Bugs not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bugs hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the T-51s.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Bugs told the Oberland Daily News.

13 June 2299 - Dungan Helps Silver Shroud Beat Ghouls, 10-6

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud defeated the The Slog Ghouls, 10-6, at Hubris Comics Park today. Leading the charge for Fort Hagen was shortstop Seth Dungan. He was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Curtis Thriceshot earned the save for Fort Hagen, his 13th of the year. Fort Hagen goes to 33-18. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.

The Silver Shroud had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 10-4, Fort Hagen, with one out. The Slog, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Josh Noggin dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 screwball, he struck out.

The Shroud were a bit sloppy on the field, committing three errors. That led to starter Derek Green (7-1) only allowing two earned runs, though he gave up six runs in all in 8.2 innings.

13 June 2299 - Party Boys Walk-off Stags

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys had to overcome a fine effort from Concord pitcher Phil Cecil to grab a narrow 6-5 win at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. Cecil went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. The Party Boys lead the North Charles Association Brotherhood League by 11 games.

The Party Boys were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when center fielder Ryan Combs turned a first-pitch fastball from Bell Franklin into a bases-clearing triple. The walk-off triple electrified the Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium denizens and sent the Party Boys home with a thrilling 6-5 win.

Combs told a Nordhagen Beach News reporter that he "totally kicked ***."

The game feature five errors, including two by Concord's Cecil, leading to his own demise. Still, Cecil was out of the game when closer Bell Franklin (3-6) blew his third save of the season.

14 June 2299 - Latest Injury News for Tentsleep

This afternoon, Lernz Tentsleep, the The Slog shortstop, confirmed that he will not be back on the field anytime soon. Tentsleep has a fractured fibula, which has sidelined him since 06/10/2299. "Last I heard," he said, "it'll be 3 months." He added: "At least."

Currently Tentsleep is batting .313 with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs.

14 June 2299 - BMU: 5-Hit Barrage by Petersen

There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Tesla Petersen is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Postal Square Action Boys at Poseidon Park today. The monster effort from the 27-year-old second baseman helped the Natick Banks Big Leaguers take the win, 6-4.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Action Boys manager Juice Becker. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Tesla Petersen hit a solo-shot off Colt Finley in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.

During the current season Petersen is batting at a .330 clip with 1 home run and 13 RBIs. He has played in 27 games and scored 11 times.

14 June 2299 - Cats Walk It Off for 16th Win of Season

The Atom Cats beat the Vault 81 Dwellers, 8-5, at Coolest Field in Town. Atom catcher Garrett Machine had an outstanding performance. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Atom reliever Chris Leggman was the winner. His record is now 2-4. The losing pitcher was Dave Caveman. Vault 81's current losing streak is now 4 games.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Atom trailing 5-4, Machine hit a fastball from Dave Caveman (1-3) for a grand slam home run, giving the Cats the walk-off win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Machine. "It was a great win."

14 June 2299 - Tracy has 3 Hit Night in Deathclaws Win

University Point catcher Paul Tracy had 5 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Diamond City Swatters, 13-4. The winning pitcher was Ronnie Messenger. He's now 1-1. He went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Deathclaws. The win elevated the Deathclaws to 26-26.

Tracy had a key at-bat for University Point early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave University Point an early 4-1 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Tracy said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

14 June 2299 - Tostado Lifts Synths to 13-5 Win

Behind a solid performance from right fielder Crooked Tostado, the Lexington Synths defeated the Easy Town Assaultrons, 13-5. Tostado was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Synths. The Assaultrons, at 18-34, have lost 6 in a row.

Justin Daros hit a 2-run home run off Angel Waterdrink in the bottom of the first, which put the Synths ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Daros had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Tostado.

Tostado recorded 7 total hits with 4 of them being home runs in the two-game series. He leads the Synths in home runs with 14, second in the NCA.

14 June 2299 - Witch Hats Bridle Adamantium, 3-2, Jump to 2nd in BL

The Salem Witch Hats picked up a win at Vim! Park of Salem, knocking off the Abernathy Adamantium, 3-2. On the mound for Salem was left-hander Terrence Artman, who played a pivotal role in the win. Salem has now won 4 in a row, jumping up a game for second in the Brotherhood League.

The Witch Hats got a big at-bat from first baseman Antonio Toeclaw. For the game, Toeclaw was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Salem a 3-2 lead.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Salem manager Proper Lighthouse.

14 June 2299 - Sweet Shuts Out Roxbury, 3-0

Chad Sweet had an impressive outing at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury today, hurling the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers.

"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Roxbury skipper Turbo Peabody said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."

On the day, the right-handed Sweet (2-0) yielded 3 hits and tallied 7 strikeouts with no walks.

14 June 2299 - Silver Shroud Roll to 8-2 Win Over Ghouls

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Miller said.

14 June 2299 - Party Boys Solve Radstags, 6-5

The first-place Nordhagen Beach Party Boys took on the Concord Radstags in front of a spirited crowd.

Concord first baseman Jason Robinson had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Nordhagen Beach at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. Robinson went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Sia Abber picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-0. Nick Hardy was tagged with the loss. Tom Mannequin earned the save for Nordhagen Beach, his 4th.

Old Crooked. When he was born, his mother said, "He looks all crooked," and thus the nickname stuck. He doesn't even remember his real name. He's just Crooked.

He has been the franchise setter for Lexington since the beginning. Drafted in the 1st round (13th overall) of the 2296 Inaugural Draft, Tostado led the Institute League in home runs in 2296 with 18 and Slugging Percentage at .681. He ended up finishing second in the IL Father MVP Award voting to Abernathy's Austin Engill. Last season was a down season for him (.264/14/70) compared to his production in his first two seasons, but he is up this year (.279/14/39) comparatively.

16 June 2299 - Seaweed 4-5 to Power Lady Killers Offense

The Starlight Lady Killers topped the Lexington Synths by the score of 15-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder David Seaweed. Seaweed went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Lady Killers on the day. The win elevated the Lady Killers to 28-25.

Early in the game, Seaweed had a run-scoring triple for Starlight. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Lady Killers on top, 1-0.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Seaweed.

16 June 2299 - Quincy Decked by Jones, Deathclaws

A 4-RBI performance from Tomas Jones helped the University Point Deathclaws beat the Quincy Gunners, 12-2. The Deathclaws bumped their record to 27-26 with this win.

Barker Cocoa, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2297 draft, contributed to the University Point win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.

Jones was even better. He finished 3 for 5 with two home runs, two runs, and four RBI.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Jones told the University Point Daily News.

Steve Gunkill's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Quincy center fielder smacked 1 hit against the Deathclaws in today's game at Gwinnett Brewery Park, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Gunners drop the game.

"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly."

Gunkill flied out in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. So far this year Gunkill is hitting .380 with 9 home runs.

16 June 2299 - Cuttooth Lifts Hancocks to 12-4 Triumph

The Goodneighbor Hancocks knocked off the Warwick Mirelurks, 12-4, at Third Rail Stadium at S. Boston HS. Burtie Cuttooth hit 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. With the victory, the Hancocks upped their record to 38-15.

John Rose helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Hancocks.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Rose told the Goodneighbor Bulletin.

16 June 2299 - Party Boys Drop Witch Hats, 3-0

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chet Arthur, who stifled the Salem offense en route to a 3-0 Party Boys win at Vim! Park of Salem. Arthur, now 6-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The save was credited to Tom Mannequin, his 5th.

In the top of the first, Ryan Combs ambushed a first-pitch fastball from Roberto Gonzales and hit a solo home run. It gave Nordhagen Beach a quick 1-0 lead.

"It was our day today," Combs told the Nordhagen Beach News. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."

Nordhagen Beach now has a 6-game win streak and hold a 12-game lead in the Brotherhood League with the win over 2nd place Salem.

16 June 2299 - Adamantium Throttled by Silver Shroud, 4-1

Fort Hagen Silver Shroud starter Mike Cartrette was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Abernathy Adamantium, 4-1. The Silver Shroud lead the North Charles Association Institute League by 6 games.

"Feels good to get the job done," Kowalski said after the game.

This season Udder has a 8-4 record with a 4.56 ERA in 15 starts.
