19 June 2299 - Taffington Boathouse Right Fielder Picked CA Player of the Week

So far in his young career, Curtis Yellallot has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Commonwealth Association in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 19-year-old Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters right fielder hit at a torrid .417 clip as he collected 5 hits in 12 at-bats, 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

For the year Yellallot is batting .255 with 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

19 June 2299 - Barrage of Hits Gets Rifleman MA Award

21-year-old Kern Rifleman made a few Charles View headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. 19 June 2299 - Weekly Team Power Rankings

The Breakheart Banks Behemoths are riding a seven-game win streak to move them into the top spot in teh BMU in this week's power rankings. Right behind them are the C.I.T. Ruins Refractors. Neither of those teams has a better record in the BMU than #3 Mystic Pines. The Raybathers have been cold of late, going 5-5 in their last 10 after only losing four in their first 24. Yet they still hold the #1 record in the Commonwealth Association and the BMU.

The Massachusetts Association is led by the Eastlake Aquaboys, but their three-game losing streak has dropped them to #6. Current co-leader in the Downtown Boston League, Haymarket Mall, is riding a five-game winning streak to move up to #4. Trinity Plaza was in first, but they are now tied with the Commandos, keeping them at #5.

Analysis

The Power Rankings are a little more solid this week, with the entire Top 4 remaining the same. In fact, other than the chance of the Railroad League getting interesting, the leagues probably know their winners (minus a 2297 Starlight-like collapse) for the season. All questions now go to the wildcards.

With Oberland now at #5 in the Power Rankings, we feel like the order of things have come into balance. It wasn't even so much that Oberland deserves the #5, but previous #5, Abernathy, went 1-4 with one 10-inning win at Fort Hagen on the weekend. The Adamantium also lost two at #9 Salem to drop from #5 to #10.

Jamaica Plain jumped up the most, moving from #13 to #6, but this week has to be taken with a seed of razorgrain with a 4-1 week at Roxbury (1-1) and versus Atom (3-0). Those two teams are #21 and #24, respectively.

Egret dropped the most, dropping from #10 to #19 after getting double-swept during its six-game losing streak, dropping two at Quincy (#7) and three at home versus Vault 81 (#13).

It does indeed. But this new one will show that Goodeighbor is now #1 in the SCA and tied with the Party Boys for #1 in the CBO.

That's true!

I bet if I reread the entirety of this dynasty, I would find countless errors/misspellings/inconsistencies. I'll just have to live with them and make corrections when readers or I find them.

The Nuka Tour

Your introduction to Nuka-World and Bradberton

by Evan Guy

19 June 2299 - Part 1: Nuka-Cola Bottling Plant and the World of Refreshment

This story is lifted straight from a terminal. You can find it on the intranet at https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Nuka...bottling_plant and https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/World_of_Refreshment, slightly altered to fit StLee's universe.

2044-2050: Always Nuka-Cola

The Nuka-Cola Corporation entered the beverage market in 2044, with the invention of the soft drink by John-Caleb Bradberton after two years of experimentation. Though strictly unhealthy (containing 120% of the recommended daily allowance of sugar), it took the United States market by storm and within a year it could be purchased nationwide. Its popularity rapidly increased and within several years it was the most popular beverage across the globe. Inspired by his brand's success, Bradberton decided to open an amusement park dedicated to the soft drink. Nuka-World opened on May 1, 2050, less than a year after ground was broken for its construction. The first two sections in the park were the Kiddie Kingdom and Nuka-Town U.S.A., but more were added, with 6 sections as of 2077. Safari Adventure, Dry Rock Gulch, The World of Refreshment, and Galactic Zone were all added later.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615427955

The constant drive to improve and innovate the formula resulted in numerous flavor variations, with the most popular ones like Cherry, Grape, and Orange released just a few years after the corporation was founded.

2050-2077: Bottling Nuka and Bottling Tourists

This industrial facility has been converted by the Nuka-Cola Corporation to serve as an attraction on top of its normal duties. The standard bottling facilities were augmented with a water ride, dumping hundreds of gallons of processed Nuka-Cola to form a regular river. In October 2077, the river was made of Nuka-Cola Quantum, the newest, hottest beverage in the Nuka-Cola catalog.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615427955

The World of Refreshment was a Nuka-Cola manufacturing plant with a guided tour. Due to one part of the tour being an actual river of Nuka-Cola Quantum, it was later infested with Nukalurks.

2076: Leap-X and Project Cobalt

Bradberton went beyond corporate deals and favors when it came to ensuring his own survival. On March 13, 2076, when General Braxton requested the services of Bradberton's Beverageers, a team of world-class organic chemists developing new tastes and additives to the soft drink, Bradberton made a bargain: In exchange for his chemists aiding the military's chemical weapons program, he would be provided with access to the military LEAP-X (Life Extension And Prolongation) Program. He pooled his immense fortune and embezzled funds from Nuka-World's budget to cover the expense of the LEAP-X project, including the salaries of the researchers he hired to ensure the prototype device works.

The military did not complain, as in October, the head of the chemical weapons program reported that his team created an isotope of strontium-90 that could be reliably weaponized, as a coating for power armor, a custom munition for the prototypical M42 Fat Man, or even an area effect weapon that could be safely deployed from something as simple as a Thirst Zapper. It could also be used "somewhat safely" in a new kind of Nuka-Cola. Bradberton ordered it to be put into production, as the Nuka-Cola Quantum (named after the isotope designation in the Beverageer's system).

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615427955

The Project Cobalt schematics were the final culmination of the U.S. Army and the Nuka-Cola Corporation's partnership in weaponizing their unique Strontium isotope found in Nuka-Cola Quantum. Project Cobalt was created wholly by the scientists of the Beverageer Division below Nuka-World's World of Refreshment. It was tested, finalized and printed by head researcher Rex Meacham after the bombs fell and shortly before his death from radiation poisoning. Project Cobalt's ultimate goal was to create a substance that could theoretically weaponize anything, the most notable example being the weaponized Nuka-Cola Quantum paddleball.

2077-2288: The River of Sludge

Eventually, with no humans to prevent the invasion of local wildlife, the plant became a nest for the local mirelurk population. Over time, the River of Quantum and its strontium additives mutated these mirelurks further, and over the generations, they grew faster, tougher, and deadlier than their regular counterparts.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615427977

It is for this reason that Sergeant Lanier's recon team was entirely wiped out. The Nukalurks knew to use their natural defenses to their advantage and gradually wore down the Gunners through attrition. Lanier's team made a last stand by the Quantum bottler but were wiped out by the Nukalurks. Even their support, pre-War RobCo Assaultrons, could not save them.

2288-2299: Re-Bottling Nuka and Re-Bottling Tourists

Upon entering, one will be in the newest feature within the "World of Refreshment," the "River of Quantum," which snakes through the structure. One will be able to hear the history of Nuka-Cola accompanied by sets that illustrate the story.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615427977

Tourists have the opportunity to tour the facilities, including the River of Quantum ride, a tour of the bottling plant, and unlimited samples of Nuka-Cola's nine delicious flavors.

19 June 2299 - Part 2: Nuka-Cola Bottling Plant and the World of Refreshment

Team name: Quantum Nukalurks

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615429685

Stadium: World of Refreshment Field

Team President: Lizzie Wyath

According to a terminal, "Lizzie Wyath [was], according to Mags Black, a co-conspirator of the Operators raider gang based out of Nuka-World's old theater, The Parlor. A young, science-minded woman with a talent for chemistry, Lizzie shows a particular fascination for mind-altering chemicals. Through constant experiments, most of them of dubious moral standing, she has made some impressive breakthroughs in her quest for making others susceptible to suggestions."

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615429685

Upon Operation Open Season, Lizzie was one of the few of the raiders group who fully cooperated, like many of the Operators leaders did. Due to her talents with chemistry, John-Caleb Bradberton appointed her as the person to run the Nuka-Cola Bottling Plant, as well as being the person to oversee the World of Refreshment and the Quantum Nukalurks baseball team.

Team Nickname: Nukalurks

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1615429685

Most adult mirelurk variants have shells and pincers resembling those of horseshoe crabs, while their offspring resemble mole crabs. The queen, on the other hand, has a shell that resembles that of a giant isopod or spider crab. The hunter variant appears to be a lobster.[11] Finally, the mirelurk king is unique in that it bears no resemblance to any sort of crustacean, and may instead be a heavily mutated frog or fish.

All mirelurks (excluding mirelurk kings and softshell mirelurks) are protected by a thick shell that is difficult to penetrate, even with powerful ballistic weapons. The face is unarmored but a small target, and when charging a mirelurk will often lower its head to protect this area. However, the face will inevitably be exposed once the creature commences close combat. Extremities are also more vulnerable than the rest of the body, though not as much as the face.

Nukalurks mutated from regular mirelurks living in the river of Nuka-Cola Quantum that is part of the World of Refreshment attraction.

Players to Watch

1B Myturtle Hrdlicka (.305/9/27)

Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2299 NWL Inaugural Draft, Hrdlicka has shown himself to be a more capable batter than most of the league. He is best known for his sharp sense of the strike zone, allowing him to take walks and avoid strikeouts when he can make contact on swings. He has a reputation of never taking the game seriously, which may be off-putting to CBO managers looking to win championships. He could be talented enough to eventually make the leap, though.

RF Eric Streetwalker (.295/10/27)

Streetwalker is another former CBO draft pick in the NWL. Drafted in the 2296 CBO Inaugural Draft by the Vault 81 Dwellers, Streetwalker did not make it through his first season before being released, having never seen the field. He eventually landed with the Atom Cats organization where he spent two seasons with their BMU team, the Cabot House Rayguns. There he played in 71 total games with 37 starts. He had a .286 career average with 13 home runs and 53 RBI. He was released by the Cats in April and signed with the Nukalurks.

SP Lawry Pocket (7-4, 2.22)

Taken in the 4th round of the 2299 NWL Inaugural Draft, Pocket is the staff ace. He has a four-pitch repertoire to help him find more success against NWL batters. He needs to work more on not having "that" pitch that runs straight down the middle of the plate. If he ever hopes to improve his prospects, he needs to learn the art of painting the corners.

News and Notes - Reports from around the Commonwealth

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

20 June 2299 - County Crossing Trades Madison for Jamaica Plain's Wilde, Hall

Dan Dall, general manager of the County Crossing Bloodbugs, has signed off on a trade for Jamaica Plain's 20-year-old minor league CF Will "Long" Hall and 20-year-old minor league 1B Hunter Wilde. To complete the deal, the Bloodbugs will send 34-year-old LHP Little Jemmy Madison to the Red Rockets.

Madison has taken the mound for 16 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-0 record with a 2.48 ERA. The Haymarket Mall reliever has limited opposing batters to a .222 batting average.

20 June 2299 - Hancocks Win, 6-3, at Diamond City

A good performance from first baseman Bryan Assman helped the Goodneighbor Hancocks defeat the Diamond City Swatters, 6-3. Assman went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Hancocks. Bus Paula earned the save for Goodneighbor, his 16th. Goodneighbor now has a 5-game win streak.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Splotch Pollock? The Goodneighbor catcher had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hancocks on top, 2-1. For the game, Pollock had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I still think this team can play even better," Assman told the Goodneighbor Bulletin.

John Rose of the Goodneighbor Hancocks and Kyle Grogg of the Diamond City Swatters will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 4 and 2 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the game.

Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Rose and Grogg will begin serving them soon.

This year Rose is batting .338 with 76 hits and 8 home runs. He has scored 42 times and has batted in 43 runs.

This season Grogg is 3-1 with no saves and a 4.43 ERA. He has given up 21 hits in 22.1 innings with 32 strikeouts.

20 June 2299 - Levy, Bloodbugs Fall to Synths

The County Crossing Bloodbugs got a superb performance from right fielder Mushy Levy. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Lexington. The Synths won the game, 10-7. Levy hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The 'W' lifts Lexington's record to 27-29.

It could have been a different outcome for Lexington, had it not been for Mike Pigeonfoot, the 20-year old center fielder . Pigeonfoot contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Lexington up, 3-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Pigeonfoot.

20 June 2299 - Hope Lays Hammer Down in 7-1 Win

Fort Hagen Silver Shroud starter Matt Hope was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Finch Farm Four Leafs, 7-1. With the win, Fort Hagen raised its record to 37-19.

Hope delivered a quality start for Fort Hagen. The 5' 10" right-hander allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits over 9 innings of work.

Hope said his team "played with determination."

20 June 2299 - Adamantium Top Assaultrons, 5-1, Behind Clevinger

Abernathy Adamantium starter Kyle Clevinger turned in a top-notch performance against the Easy Town Assaultrons at Tato Field. The result was a win for the Adamantium, 5-1. The win elevated the Adamantium to 31-25.

Clevinger, now 3-6, scattered 6 hits over 9 innings for the Adamantium.

"Kyle was throwing strikes, locating well," said Abernathy manager Chase Stingwing.

20 June 2299 - Radstags Lose at Home, 10-6, to Nordhagen Beach

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys topped the Concord Radstags, 10-6, in North Charles Association action at Nuka Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Nordhagen Beach first baseman Dustin Mart.

Nordhagen Beach reliever Night Demon Archacki was the winner. His record is now 4-1, despite having his first blown save of the season in the bottom of the 8th. It was his first blown save in a CBO record of 33 straight attempts. Bell Franklin (3-7) took the loss. The North Charles Association Brotherhood League-leading Party Boys are 41-15.

Nordhagen Beach used the timely hitting of C3-88 Puppetboy to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Party Boys on top, 10-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count. The Boys scored four in the ninth to break a 6-6 tie.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Mart told the Nordhagen Beach News.

21 June 2299 - Injury Brings Season to End for Ciccone

Chris Ciccone has to call it a season. The Lexington Synths starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 06/18/2299 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 10 months. The team will likely place Ciccone on the injured list today.

This season Ciccone has registered 2 wins and 9 losses in 14 starts with a 5.81 ERA.

21 June 2299 - BMU: Dude Has 'Remember Me?' Moment, Ks 15

Josh Dude really had Boston Common batters swinging and missing today at Memory Den Field. Dude sat down 15 hitters on strikes and whipped the Lead Bellies 7-2. He allowed 6 hits and gave up 1 walk in a standout mound performance in 8.2 innings. Dude would have pitched a complete-game, but had to leave the game after experiencing tightness in his hamstring.

On his stats sheet for the year Dude shows a 3-4 record, 10 starts, 72.2 innings, 84 strikeouts and a 3.59 ERA.

With Dude's performance today, and Eastlake Aquaboys' LF Adam Crook BMU Player of the Day performance on Monday, we are considering a "What happened?" story on former CBO Inaugural Draft high picks and starters now playing in the BMU. Dude was taken in the 5th round of the 2296 Inaugural Draft by the Finch Farm Four Leafs, while Crook was taken in the 4th round by the Fairline Hill Estates (FHE) Yao Guai and was once considered a rising star.

21 June 2299 - Swatters Drop Hancocks, 2-1, in 10

The Goodneighbor Hancocks got a superb performance from pitcher Bruce Iddings. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Diamond City. The Swatters won the game, 2-1, in 10 innings. Iddings threw 9 innings of 3-hit ball. Diamond City reliever Josh Samm picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Bus Paula (0-4) was saddled with the loss. With the win, Diamond City upped its record to 40-17, one game back of the Hancocks for South Charles Association supremacy.

The Swatters procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Allen Bishop. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

Bishop called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

Diamond City's Tim Fusion was also good on the day. He allowed just one earned run on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 9.0 innings.

21 June 2299 - Westing Hurls Abernathy to Shutout Victory

Brad Westing kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Abernathy Adamantium were all smiles after winning 5-0 against the Easy Town Assaultrons at Tato Field today. The left-handed Westing gave up no runs in his start, permitted 5 hits and had 7 strikeouts.

"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Westing said later. "My catcher, Dan Neo, called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."

Up to now Westing has recorded a record of 6-5. In 15 starts he has fanned 98 batters in 107.1 innings with a 3.27 ERA.

21 June 2299 - Cartrette K's 11 En Route to 3-2 Silver Shroud Win

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud did just enough to sneak past the Finch Farm Four Leafs, 3-2, at Finch Family Park. Fort Hagen pitcher Mike Cartrette, in particular, had a standout performance. Curtis Thriceshot was called on to finish, recording his 15th save. The North Charles Association Institute League-leading Silver Shroud have a record of 38-19.

Cartrette (10-2), the Fort Hagen left-hander, went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. He collected 11 strikeouts. He now leads the North Charles Association in wins and extends his season-leading strikeout lead to 126, 14 more than Nordhagen Beach's Tommy Beach.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Cartrette.

The Shroud had contributions from several players on offense, but Andrew Nuka's two-out solo home run (14) in the top of the 3rd proved to be the game-winning hit. It put Fort Hagen up 3-1 at the time. It was also the Silver Shroud's only extra-base hit.

Matt Basile (8) and Nate Gless (5) each hit solo shots for the Four Leafs.

21 June 2299 - Radstags Squelch Party Boys Offense in Shutout Win

Concord starter Chris Radsco pitched well against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Nuka Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. Concord now sits in 5th place in the North Charles Association Institute League at 25-32.

In the bottom of the third, Ricky Ticky Laughy hit a 2-run double. The 16th double of the season for the Concord center fielder put the Radstags on top, 2-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Concord manager Mark Gourdroot. "It's usually not just one thing."

Radsco (5-5) did not allow a run in 7.0 innings. He allowed seven hits and struck out eight. Chet Arthur suffered just his second loss of the season, dropping to 6-2.

21 June 2299 - Lady Killers Deal Ghouls 6-2 Loss

Starlight got a strong outing from City Moore as the Lady Killers defeated the The Slog Ghouls, 6-2, at Tarberry Field Forever. With the win, the Lady Killers hiked their record to 31-26, just one game back of Abernathy for the Institute League wildcard spot. The Ghouls dropped their third straight.

Starlight used a well-timed hit by Hubris McBride to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lady Killers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said McBride.

Starlight second baseman Alec Bullets keeps on racking up hits every time he plays. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 1 hit today.

"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Bullets said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky."

Bullets struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dan Dozier in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, and grounded out in the 8th. This season Bullets is hitting .311 with 4 home runs.

I like that the Nuka World teams have some non-traditional colors (and I guess by and large the dynasty as a whole, but Nuka World specifically). Wasn't sure about it at first, but I think it finally hit me that it's really grown on me.

You know, I was just questioning myself after posting the Quantum team picture why I didn't vary the uniform colors more. I was basically going for their brand colors, but the Nuka Quantum logo I found does not match.

Well, that is a change for the offseason. :D Maybe I'll at least change colors to home whites or something.

I mean, it could just be a *me* thing, but even though I still haven't played Nuka World, I did have it from the get go, and the thing about it that makes me the most excited? There's so many flavors of Nuka Cola to collect and the game even encourages it by having a dedicated stand you can construct for said purpose at your settlement (getting spoiled via the wiki is a time honored tradition for me). I'm the kind of person that gets a deep seated "one of each" urge with such things, so really, all the pretty colors is incredibly on brand for me. Who needs story when there's a collection to be had! :p

2299 - BMU - 6 Players Seeking Redemption

Today in the CBO

News and Notes - Reports from around the Commonwealth

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

22 June 2299 - Six Unsuccess Stories

They were on top of the world on 1 January 2296. Taken in the top rounds of the CBO Inaugural Draft, these six players featured below dropped from top picks in the CBO to BMU players--some infrequent.

SS Jamie Pipegun - Drafted in the 2nd round, #37 overall, by the University Point Deathclaws.

If there is any reason why the Deathclaws organization has yet to make the playoffs, much less move to the top half of the Minutemen League, then look no further than their biggest draft bust. With their first pick, SP Quentin Malone, not being a star pitcher in the league, and their second pick dropping out of sight, it has shown at University Point.

In 2296, Pipegun played in 48 games, starting 47. He batted .303 with 12 home runs and 35 RBI. Not bad numbers. By 2297, he was sent down to Boston Common where he played in just 21 games, starting 15. In 2298, he made just two appearances with the Lead Bellies, never getting a plate appearance.

3B/RP James Kimbrough - Drafted in the 3rd round, 54th overall, by the Goodneighbor Hancocks, Kimbrough was one player surrounded by stars who suddenly finds himself on the way out.

A 3B starter for Goodneighbor in 2296 and 2297 and most of 2298, Kimbrough has seen his ability to hit suddenly drop. He was sent to Trinity Plaza in 2299 because he could not make contact at all, not even on lob balls in batting practice. The Hancocks decided it was time to pitch full time, something he had done only once with Goodneighbor.

Now he is a relief pitcher, having appeared in five games. He is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 7.2 innings, so there may be hope. It is strange, though, that the Hancocks gave up on him. In 198 games with the Hancocks, he has a career batting average of .308 with 14 home runs and 96 RBI. In 2296, he hit .343.

LF Adam Crook - Drafted in the 4th round, #94 overall, by the Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai.

Crook looked good with the Yao Guai in his first two seasons before having a tough 2298 season. He batted .344 in 60 starts in 2296 and .318 in the same number of starts in 2297. In 2298, with the expanded schedule, he still started all games, 108, but batted just .267. Not a great outfielder, he became expendable in 2299.

Crook is doing OK with the Eastlake Aquaboys, batting .293 with seven home runs and 28 RBI. However, it is questionable when or if he will find his way back to the CBO.

SP Josh Dude - Drafted in the 5th round, #107 overall, but the Finch Farm Four Leafs.

Dude started struggling early against CBO action, though he was a most-time starter before being dealt to Goodneighbor, where he was ultimately sent to their BMU affiliate, the Trinity Plaza Snipers.

In 2+ seasons with the Four Leafs, Dude started 54 games and pitched in 57 total. He had a 20-19 record with a 5.28 ERA before being dealt to Goodneighbor in July of 2298.

The Hancocks pitched Dude in two games before deciding he was not what they wanted as an upgrade to their playoff pitching staff. He went 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA before finishing the season with the Snipers. This season, he has only pitched for the Snipers, going 3-4 with a 3.59 ERA in 10 starts.

3B T.J. McMath - Drafted in the 5th round, #118 overall, by the Starlight Lady Killers.

McMath thought he would find his way to stardom, but instead found himself traded in just his second month with his squad. He went to County Crossing where he started all 60 games at third base, batting .233 with nine home runs and 33 RBI. After the season, he had to know something was off in his CBO future when he was dealt again, this time to Salem.

In Salem, McMath found himself as a pinch hitter in 2297 and 2298, starting only one game of the 47 he played in. There he batted .212 with three homers and 12 RBI.

This season, the Witch Hats sent him to Breakheart Banks where he has started all 37 games, batting .275 with four homers and 30 RBI.

1B Willie Qesadena - Drafted in the 8th round, #171 overall, by the Starlight Lady Killers.

Qesadena isn't technically a top pick, but he is another player with a mysterious drop off in skills for such a young player. He started all 60 games for the Killers in 2296 and 59 of 60 in 2297. In those two seasons, he batted .276 with 18 home runs and 93 RBI.

Suddenly, in 2298, he could not find his swing anymore. He played in just 7 games with the Lady Killers, batting .333 with an RBI as a pinch hitter, before being sent to the Mystic Pines Raybathers. There he appeared in just seven games, starting three. In 2299, he has played in just seven games, starting one. He is batting .444 in his 27 total at bats, with four home runs and 11 RBI, but other first-baggers, Harry Bush and Travis Brothers, get more of the playing time.

23 June 2299 - Dominant Performance by Shed in Nordhagen Beach Win

In a tight affair between the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and the Finch Farm Four Leafs, pitcher Julian Shed was in the zone. The Nordhagen Beach left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-0. Tom Mannequin earned save number 8 this season. Nordhagen Beach goes to 42-16. The win puts them 11½ games up in their division.

Shed was in the zone all game. He frustrated Finch Farm hitters while giving the Party Boys 8 innings of quality work. Shed threw 117 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 12 punchouts.

"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Shed told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."

The game was tied heading into the bottom of the 8th. There Pointie Shroud doubled off Chris Deathclaw (5-6) before coming up lame at second. C3-88 Puppetboy ran for him and score with one out when Ryan Combs doubled. With two outs, Jonathan Angelou hit a two-run home run to make the final score. Deathclaw pitched all eight innings for the Four Leafs.

23 June 2299 - Redcoats, Dwellers Get 4-2 Win

The Vault 81 Dwellers picked up a win at CURIE Inc. Field, knocking off the Egret Ninjas, 4-2. Starting pitcher Curt Redcoats played a key role in the triumph. Vault 81 is now 27-31.

Redcoats (5-8) allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings for the Dwellers. He walked 2 and struck out 10. Dave Caveman picked up his 16th save.

"We put together a nice win," Redcoats said.

Bubb Islander led the way for the Dwellers on offense, going 3 for 4 with a double, an SCA-tying two triples, a run, and an RBI. He had all three of Vault 81's extra-base hits.

Crops Gerdenheimner hit his 9th home run of the season for the Ninjas.

23 June 2299 - Chemists Topple Radstags, 13-7, as Wickliffe Shines

The Sunshine Tidings Chemists beat the Concord Radstags, 13-7, at ArcJet Systems Stadium. Sunshine Tidings shortstop Chris Wickliffe had an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Sunshine Tidings reliever Bill Sarnacki got the win, raising his record to 4-8. Cal Silent was tagged with the loss. The last-place Chemists sport a record of 25-33.

Sunshine Tidings took a 8-6 lead on James Darling's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Concord pitcher Cal Silent in the bottom of the eighth.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Darling said after the game.

23 June 2299 - Fort Hagen Beats Lexington, 6-2

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud picked up a win at Super Duper Mart Stadium, knocking off the Lexington Synths, 6-2. On the mound for Fort Hagen was left-hander Brent Hooker, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, Fort Hagen raised its record to 39-19.

Fort Hagen used the bat of Jim Tiller to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Silver Shroud ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Hooker said.

David Driftwood also homered for the Shroud. Seth Dungan was 3 for 4 with two doubles and three runs scored.

23 June 2299 - Synthseeker Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Diamond City in Walk-Off Win

The Diamond City Swatters topped the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers, 2-1, in South Charles Association action at The Great Green Jewel. The standout performance belonged to Diamond City pitcher and Berlin, Massachusetts, native X10-44 Mannson. Mike Pond, credited with the win, is now 1-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The victory gives Diamond City a record of 41-17.

Jim Synthseeker was the walk-off hero for Diamond City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Swatters pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Mannson.

23 June 2299 - Red Rockets Pull Even With 10-2 Victory

Ayag Mour had a hand in Jamaica Plain defeating Quincy by the score of 10-2. The rookie catcher went 3 for 5 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 1 runs. Jamaica Plain now has a record of 29-29 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Jamaica Plain, had it not been for Hid Matsumoto, the slugging center fielder. Matsumoto contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Jamaica Plain up, 4-1.

"I thought we played a nice game," Mour told the Jamaica Plain Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The Quincy Gunners and Jamaica Plain Red Rockets were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

In the top of the second, with the game still scoreless, Matsumoto hit a 2-run single to put his team in the lead.

24 June 2299 - Cats Trounce Deathclaws, 10-2

Atom Cats starter Jesse Emacipated had all his pitches working at Coolest Field in Town. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 10-2 Atom win over the University Point Deathclaws. The Cats sport a record of 18-41.

The Cats got a big hit from center fielder Jason Niederer. In the bottom of the seventh, Niederer pounded a bases-clearing triple to center. His 3rd triple of the season put the Cats ahead, 8-2.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Atom skipper Paul Stands.

24 June 2299 - Diamond City Topples Roxbury, 6-3

The home crowd had a good time watching the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers and Diamond City Swatters get after it.

Led by Danny Suarez, the Diamond City Swatters downed the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers, 6-3. Suarez was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Swatters. Earning his 27th save of the year was Josh Samm.

Tyler Ross, who is on pace to hit 26 home runs this season, chipped in for Diamond City with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.

Ross said his team "played with focus."

The win puts Diamond City at 42-17 this season.

24 June 2299 - Party Boys Bridle Four Leafs, 3-1

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a strong performance from pitcher Derek Gist, who stymied the Finch Farm offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. Gist got the win, improving to 8-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. Gist allowed 1 run. Tom Mannequin was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.

The Party Boys got a big hit from left fielder Michael Fogcrawler. In the bottom of the fifth, Fogcrawler pounded a 2-run home run to left-center. His 12th home run of the season put the Party Boys ahead, 2-1.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Gist said.

Nordhagen Beach is now 43-16, 12 games up in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League.

24 June 2299 - Fort Hagen Gets 7-4 Win

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud topped the Lexington Synths, 7-4, in North Charles Association action at Super Duper Mart Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Fort Hagen pitcher Derek Green. Fort Hagen is now riding a 5-game win streak.

With Fort Hagen leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Green hit a 2-run single off Lexington hurler Greg Mardis. It was the 9th hit of the season for Green and put his team ahead, 4-1.

"Derek -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Silver Shroud manager Mark Andersen. "He was the key to us winning, especially what he did with the bat."

25 June 2299 - Noggin Hits 2 Home Runs in Ghouls Win

The The Slog Ghouls bested the Easy Town Assaultrons by a score of 9-3, with first baseman Josh Noggin getting the main credit. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 1. With the victory, the Ghouls upped their record to 30-30.

The Slog grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Noggin, who finished 3rd in the NCA in RBI with 96 last year, hit a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Ghouls out in front, 1-0.

"We came out aggressive," said Ghouls manager Dick Tricky. "We came out swinging the bats."

Finch Farm first baseman Joe Mahaney helped his team beat the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 9-4. Mahaney, who is tied for 5th in the NCA in total bases with 138, went 3 for 5 for the Four Leafs. The winner was Chad Behr, who threw 98 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The Four Leafs raised their record to 24-36.

The Four Leafs got an important contribution from center fielder Lux Schwartz, who in the top of the second hit a 1-2 changeup into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Four Leafs ahead, 3-0.

"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Schwartz.

25 June 2299 - Synths Prevail, 8-6, Over Fort Hagen

David Driftwood did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud from losing, 8-6, to the Lexington Synths at Super Duper Mart Stadium. Driftwood went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. The Synths raised their record to 29-31.

Swift Hendrix aided the Lexington cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.

26 June 2299 - Fort Hagen's Dungan Receives Name Petition Approval

His teammates already call him by the name, and now the CBO will, too. Fort Hagen Silver Shroud SS Seth Dungan received approval from the league to change his name midseason, and now he is Well Done Dungan.

Dungan has been a steady leadoff hitter in all four seasons with the Shroud since being drafted in the 8th round, #191 overall, in the 2296 Inaugural Draft.

This season he is batting .335 with 16 doubles, 8 triples (leads the NCA), 47 runs, and 27 RBI. He has stolen 14 of 27 attempts, fifth in steals in the NCA.

For his career, he is a .335 hitter with 77 doubles, 41 triples, including leading the CBO in triples in 2296 and 2298, 8 home runs, 239 runs, 136 RBI, and 54 of 95 stolen bases. He has a 9.4 career WAR.

26 June 2299 - CBO-NWL Trade: Bobb for Two Players

In a hastily called press conference, Sunshine Tidings announced today a trade with Wild that will send 30-year-old 3B Ryan Bobb to the Gatorclaws in exchange for 20-year-old SS Andy Craven and 21-year-old RHP Jake Lynnwoods. All players are expected to be in their respective new cities in time for today's games.

Bobb currently has a .278 batting average with 64 hits, 2 homers, 30 RBIs, 21 runs scored and a .313 OBP.

There is no word how this trade went through with a CBO starter getting sent to the NWL. Insiders believe that the Chemists are attempting to "tank" to increase their chances of getting one of the better prospects in the 2299 draft class. The 2299 class is expected to be a strong group. Sunshine Tidings recently traded their staff ace, Tony Bertha, to the Egret Ninjas.

26 June 2299 - Week's #1 Player Honored by NCA

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Glenn Higinbotham, the Starlight Lady Killers 22-year-old center fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 11 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .458 average with 2 home runs and 2 RBIs.

This year Higinbotham is hitting at a .325 pace with 6 home runs and 35 RBIs. He has played in 60 games and scored 48 times.

26 June 2299 - SCA Awards Best Batter Prize to Assman

One of the league's most exciting young players, Bryan Assman of the Goodneighbor Hancocks earned himself South Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games.
