I actually printed out my World Series team photos (4 in a 25+ year game) and posted them on the bulletin board in the computer room.
I felt a little silly about it and wondered if I should take them down when people come over. I've always been fascinated by the baseball card features. I've heard of people printing them out and placing them in card binders. I'd love to do that one day. OOTP nerds unite! ;) |
People should just play a word association game with your thread title. Before I even opened the thread, I read the title and the word that popped into my head was "Absolutely."
But then I read your OP, viewed your pics, and backed off a bit on that assessment. ;) |

Cool :D

Working on my baseball card album :D
Team picture, followed by team summary followed by players. I have a system. http://i1327.photobucket.com/albums/...psctertxxp.jpg |
As soon as I talk the wife into it, I am getting a 2nd hard drive just to use for MySQL end of season exports.......
i think I got a better shot at that than a new computer solely for OOTP stuff |
Wow!! Nerd-vana in here. :)
This thread makes me feel bad. I need to step up my nerd levels. |
How did you make those dollar bills?
|
all you guys need to get a hobby or something...:D
|
Came in here expecting to be the nerd. Leave knowing better. :D

I guess I do what a lot of you do, but I type on my computer/leave pictures. Like the guy with the binder with team photos, I plan to put that type of thing in a folder on my computer. But it's definitely not as nerdy than putting it in a binder! He probably makes those dollars in photoshop. I assume he takes a picture of a real dollar and edits it. |
Hardcore!

I suppose you could download them from the file gallery at ootpwiki.info and take a look at how he did it. |
I do print out the standings each year and the pitching and batting leader pages and put them in a loose leaf binder. But as far as anyone beating your office display I would have to go with I don't think so
:thumbup1: |
I admit I am powerless over OOTP. Without it, my life is as boring as watching the Golden Girls.

FYI, I was using them all today as I set up my new fictional OOTP 16 league. They are amazing and marvelously useful. Thank you a million times once more. |

All I have is a coffee cup from OOTP 9 and I have purchased every version since the 2nd. You have me beat lol
|
Too show how much a nerd I am I bought a surface pro 3 just for the game....it is only used for ootp.
Wait does that mean I'm addicted or a nerd????? |
This thread has, uh... has, uh... I have to go lay down.

Jazzrack, I think what you do is great! :)
You get out of things what you put into them. |

That is awesome, I wish I had the extra cash to do that because I probably would do the same. Wish the game would run on an iPad :) |
For my historical league, I make sure everybody on the real-life rosters for a given year gets into at least one game, to the point of "force feeding" certain relievers by playing out games for teams other than my own. I also make baseball cards for every major league player every season, even going so far as to make a card for each team a guy played on if a player played for more than one team in a season. And, of course, real-life transactions. Not to mention real-life minor league teams, complete with historical uniforms when I can find pictures of them.
No wonder fictional leagues take so much less time for me than historicals... |
I really like your take on the wrong team names for various regions. Could not agree more. I think that, ironically, when the Jazz left New Orleans for Salt Lake City, they could have renamed themselves...wait for it...the (latter day) Saints ! Lakers is especially ridiculous as well. How about "The Hollywood Stars" ? And if you had an expansion baseball team in San Francisco, instead of the NY Giants moving there, what WOULD you name them?
|
This thread deserves a bump. :)
|
This thread..... makes me feel not-so-crazy anymore. :flowers:
|
But if there was a way to create OOTP jerseys to wear, I'm totally in.
|
In the middle of a college class once, I just whipped out my laptop and started playing because I felt like it. Professor thought I was working on something..... :D

Has anyone turned their OOTP league into a Strat-o-matic league?

This is all next level (stuff)
|
No - I use to be a Strat-o-Matic junkie, until OOTP came along, dropped Strat around 2002. Sorry this game is way more addictive!
|
We all have OCD, don't we? ;)
Oh, and remind me not to join an online league that jazzrack is in!! |
