cannot login to ootp19 PT at all
 
unable to download league file for any of my 3 teams as of last refresh 15 mins ago.

EDIT: clarification, I'm able to authenticate/login, but unable to download league files

I can't load my league file. I can login and see my PP total, but can't actually get into PT. Refreshed the game 6x in last 20 minutes.

fyi.... saw this posted in discord (about 15 minutes ago):

"the team is migrating the 19 files to another server to try and fix the issue with box scores, my understanding is that its about 50% complete, trying to get an ETA. This was an unplanned outage"

Customers should be able to receive the same critical service information here on the company forums. This is not the first time that information has been withheld from this community.

It's not really being withheld, it's on one of the popular platforms of the times....although I'm not on discord either so I'm not seeing anything.

it's just a chat site... sometimes mods are online over there and it's easy to pick up info....

i bounce between both sometimes, but spend the bulk of my time around these parts....

Is there one Official site? In effect, Facebook, Forums, Discord, Youtube, Twitch......are a basic social media bunch of ways to communicate to the public.

As a fellow old guy, I would lean toward a forum being the "official" thing. Although one could argue a usenet group would be the official channel for super old geeks.

As a fellow old guy, I would lean toward a forum being the "official" thing. Although one could argue a usenet group would be the official channel for super old geeks.


All of the above are administered by OOTP staff or representatives so they would all be considered Official Sites.

Once somebody successfully logs in, would they be willing to make a quick post here to let us know that the servers are on? I have to walk away from the computer and can't waste my time constantly walking back and forth but would appreciate a heads-up. Thank you

As I've been waiting I've been wondering how this is affecting the auction house. People who put an initial bid on something and getting a 90% discount and the auction will end while the servers are down. How that will affect everybody

For several hours now, it looks like I can log in, but as soon as I try to access Perfect Team it tells me that files cannot download and I should restart OOTP.
Also, since the new season restart this morning, I have not been able to download any boxscores all day. Possibly this is a related problem.

Seriously, I assume your using the same servers for both...and of course they are crashing...time to update/upgrade?

I obviously have no idea what I am talking about, but now I cannot play either....wtf?

From what I can tell, a v19 server crashed and they are transferring everything to a new server. that takes time, unfortunately.

How will this affect the season? I assume no games are being simmed for most of today. Last I saw, my team played 13 games.

I was just able to log in. League appears to have been simming normally (it's April 24).

I already posted this in another thread (why does there have to be 2-3 threads for the same thing?), but I am able to get into PT 19 just fine at the moment. Am downloading box scores and everything.

My pitcher Larry Dierker got the 400 PP achievement 'throw a Maddux' for a 98-pitch CG SHO so maybe they should have server problems more often.

So there is progress happening....just not a load of communication back.

It looks like a better server "health status" for the community is missing that lets everyone know if things are up and when issues are being evaluated and worked on.

The unfortunate thing for me is that I had a bunch of auctions ending at 11:00pm EST and looks like I won't have any volume of buyers to bid up the lower bids that got in before this. This server issue is literally costing me a lot of PP I bet.

Hey guys, sorry for the hassle. I'd like to tell you a bit about the background. Hopefully it makes sense:
For PT19, we use 6 servers at the moment. We copy all the league files to a single CDN storage. This CDN storage had a problem a few hours ago and the league data could not get uploaded.
For PT20, we use a different network and provider and a completely different concept. We have 16 servers in place for PT20 and it's completely separated from PT19. That is because we saw the problems a few weeks ago with box scores unavailable and so on, so we revamped the whole concept to have a system which is better scalable.
We wanted to introduce the new system to PT19 after the release of OOTP20. But with the problems tonight, I started to migrate the PT19 sim servers to the PT20 concept and that was not easy.

Obviously, it would have been much better to move all the stuff when the simulations are not running at the same time. For example Monday morning. But I had to find a solution for the bad CDN storage problem immediately and that was the only thing that worked.

Please accept my apologies for this server outage.

Seeing how often i "dismiss message(s)" in my OOTP 16 relating to info about the newer games, only for them to crop up again and again I don't think this would work very reliably either.

While I slept through all of this, a brief post acknowledging a major snafu in progress pinned to the PT Forum here would be daft though.

Man, you guys need to get with the times. Message boards will die someday and you'll have to move on or be left behind. Usually, twitter is the main form of communication for companies and pretty much never message boards. Just click on a link and read, it's not that hard. Takes about 10 minutes to get used to discord. I'm old too.
