DDSPF vs FOF?
Looking for a good foot balsam that’s deep realistic stats something similar to out of the park baseball and I found these two. Out of the two mentioned which one would you recommend for the most realistic in depth football simulator? Or perhaps another one I’m open for suggestions thank you.

I still play FOF 8 and enjoy it. The GUI is absolutely awful but has a lot of depth if you can get past it. I still pick it over WS likely due to familiarity.

Thank you I will keep you posted. Also are that stats and play pretty realistic or far fetched? I have been learning and playing OOTP Baseball and love the depth and realism. Please let me know. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Have a look through the statistics of our league and you will find out that results are pretty realistic: http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/osfl...standings.html Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

The biggest problem I heard with FOF8 is the user interface. Is it that bad or is it manageable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

But you get used to it, it's intituitive and easy to handle, you can even open multiple windows at one to help u decide between options, that's the whole point of FOF and OOTP adding forces to come up with a more user frienfly looking interface with the strong ME and logic of FOF. Is it ok without the 2D graphics and the other thing is I was watching a video on DDS and it seems the ratings are off for example they have Dak Prescott as a 92ish if I remember correctly and I think that is off a bit lol. So the 2D sounds great but the realism of stats and performance is more important to me.

Wanted to point out a couple things to you in regards to DDSPF20 - for one the ratings are done by a community mod maker and you can edit anything you don't like in the game. If you are looking for multiplayer experiences there are some great leagues I can point you towards like http://football.championsimleague.com/ - those guys did amazing things with their basketball league and I'm sure this one is just as dynamic (and I believe they just finished the season and are looking for new members)
Also if price happens to be a factor we're having a black friday sale right now at wolverinestudios.com where PF20 is only 19.99. Either way you can't go wrong as both games are very, very good. |

One of the reasons I picked DDPFS over FOF, aside from it being more customizable closer to OOTP is the actual game results being more realistic. I read somewhere that FOF doesn't even have 2-point conversions or onside kicks, something that PFS does have. I haven't played FOF but I'm wondering if someone who played both could expound more on this? The game engine, the actual games being played are the most important part of the game to me.

I would love to know this too. I love realism especially when it comes to these types of games have the reason why I love OOTP 20.

What are the sim statistics like for ddspf20? Would anyone mind posting their league leaders?
Just asking because statistical accuracy has always been the biggest reason I prefer fof to ddspf. Apparently 20 is better but I’m still skeptical of it. |

If you are looking for statistical realism, FOF is the better option. The FOF engine does an outstanding job of mirroring the NFL. Further, player profiles are deeper in FOF - football skills as well as physical attributes. DDS PF seems to be focused on combine ratings such as speed (for WRs and DBs) and strength (linemen). IMO, FOF offers more challenges with developing players and roster building. FOF is stronger in terms of game planning, despite the recent DDS PF custom playbook feature. FOF game planning has the feel of how NFL teams script plays based on down and distance situations. To be fair, I'm sure some folks prefer DDS PF. I've only played that game casually, but enough to understand that FOF is my preference for a football sim emphasizing the GM role. |

If you want something that is similar to football, but looks much much better, and is easier to be drawn into the game world as a whole, DDS is the one for you. Other than the GUI my main gripe with FOF is that you have to pull the vast majority of information from the game, whereas with DDS much more info is pushed to you, which helps you feel part of a universe. However the contracts, stats and playing out of the games are much more solid in FOF The perfect mix would be the FOF base with the DDS look & feel... which is what we all hope OOTP FOF will be! |
Having played both thoroughly I will be as concise as I can be. One developer is a perfectionist. The other is not. Both are fun games though.
