OOTP has given me nothing
 

OOTP has given me NOTHING after two years of hard work. I know you don’t care about me personally, but think about this. The OOTP staff has dozens of people do tons of work for them beta testing, then when they finish their work, OOTP doesn’t share any of the revenue with them.

And they have the nerve to have performance standards in their beta testing. If you don’t submit enough bug reports, you won’t be able to do beta testing the next year. Oh darn- you mean I won’t have to do any work, but my salary will be cut from zero to zero?

I can understand them wanting more bug reports. Especially after the 25 disaster.

Mods, please don't lock these threads. Complaining is not against the rules. Censorship is to benefit those who fear the facts.

Could you point me in the direction of the companies who give a share of revenues to beta testers, I'd quite like to sign up :laugh:

It's a volunteer position. That's not a secret when anyone signs up. You beta tested for two years before you figured out how it works?

I think it would be fair to say most beta testers do it for the game. They love being involved and that is their reward.

THANK YOU for all the time and effort you put into the game. I wish I had the patience to do what you do, but I don't.

If you weren't promised any compensation at the outset, and don't find value in the prospect of improving a game you appreciate, I'm not sure why you would have expected something. This was your choice.

This seems like a strange place to complain about wage disparity.

Seems to me that most beta testers and others close to the company find the prestige of being assumed knowledgeable and the adulation of much of the public to be sufficient compensation.

Adulation of the public? Give me a break.

You mean the public doesn't consider those close to the company extra knowledgeable? That those close to the company don't get reprimanded by moderators? Did they somehow not tell you about that special club?

So you want them to pay you?

C'mon. His posts are harmless to OOTP and the responses show the public is enjoying them.

Maybe harmless, definitely a bit deranged and with an axe to grind. At least they provided a bit of entertainment, but they were always going to be deleted.

Censoring things that are harmless makes it look like the censor fears they have merit.

I think the posts would have been great for the first forum on the board.

Should have put it in one thread instead of spamming the boards. Those enjoying it could keep up in one place.

He threatened suicide in one of the posts.

They were probably deleted since the so called "judge" posted about 8 or 9 threads in like 5 mins, not because the "censor" fears they have merit

Did anyone ask for a welfare check?

I reported spam when I was first on the board and was told it wasn't against the rules. Even got a strike for false reporting.

I don't think it was a mod. I can't even see the missing threads and if it was a mod I think I could see them.

Never work for free. Especially in this capitalist hellhole. Value your time.

One of the most important lessons learned when young and enlisting in the military, is that NAVY stands for Never Again Volunteer Yourself.

Also they left this thread open. It was spamming and usually when you spam you get banned. In fact this guy appears to have broken the TOS in multiple ways so whatever.
