Should firing be this quick
I took over a team, drafted, and experimented for a while. After going 11-21, I got fired. Do you really want it to be possible for this to happen so quickly?
|
I haven't been fired personally, but I have seen cpu run teams drop the axe pretty quickly. I'm thinking that the first year should be a gimme' with no firings until year two unless you are like -20 on the Pyth. Record.

Did you do anything silly, like go on vacation for 4 weeks? Did you make any trades, dump payroll for prospects? What did you owner say his expectations were? |
It was all pretty ordinary stuff -- no trades or anything. The owner expected .500 ball.

I got fired half way through the first season in my fictional sim. The owner goals were to make the playoffs and I was easily falling short with a last place team. I made no trades and had the best lineup I could out there. I thought it was odd to be canned so fast.

Maybe the owner doesn't like dogs? ;) |

Even IRL, getting fired that quick happens incredibly rarely. But in a game that's just to quick. No way you should get canned after 32 games after you first fire up a baseball sim. I agree with the poster. Barring you intentionally trying to sabatoge the team, the firing mechanism of the game shouldn't really kick in until the middle of year two at the earliest. |
