Players not responding to extensions?
 

I've been trying to resign my centerfielder. He wants $1.1M per year for two years.

I offer $1.2M per year for 2 years, submit the offer and never get a response.

A few days later I go back to the player and can offer another extension, as if the first offer was never made.

What do I have to do to get this guy to re-sign? :rant:

Make double-sure that you're patched. I had this problem before the patch, because when trying to sign in the offseason, the first extension year was defaulting to a year too late.

I was finally able to resign him by offering EXACTLY what he wanted. Any offer for more years or even more money was ignored.

I don't know if it's because it was early in the season (I started trying to resign him in May) or a bug that ignores offers other than those that match the desired contract, but I was finally able to get the player resigned.

This is with the patched game.

I've noticed that when I make an offer, and then quit the game before I get a response -- the next time I load the game up the offer is no longer there. But if I make an offer and continue to play a couple of more days I get a response.
