Bad Pitcher AI
I'm a solo player who likes to go through seasons in a reasonable amount of time. So I set the game to only stop me when a player is injured for 3 weeks or more. I want the manager to take care of the rest. I have the rotation set to "Start Highest rested Starter".
Well, my #1 starter just got diagnosed with a dead arm. He's out for a week starting on 8/29. Here's what the AI decided to do. It starts my #2 guy on 8/30, my #3 guy on 9/1, my #4 guy on 9/2. Then it gets dumb. It starts my spot starter (not my #5) on 9/3, my #3 guy again on 9/4, my spot starter again on 9/5, another starter just called up due to expanded roster on 9/6, and my spot starter again on 9/7. Clearly this is a big time AI bug. My #2 starter has been ready to go again since at least 9/4 and my #5 starter never saw any time at all. My #1 starter is back on 9/8 and things will presumably be back to normal, but this should be looked at. |
In older OOTPB's, the AI would do similar gimmicks. I find it's best just to use a set rotation. Maybe "use most rested pitcher" works better in this OOTPB, maybe not, but hopefully this issue will get some attention or response.

If a guy is hurt (as in, out with an injury), you've got to take him out of the rotation/lineup/depth chart. The AI does this to its own teams when it controls them. If you don't do this, don't be surprised if you see weird stuff.

How is this working out?
Comments welcome. |
We'd be interested in seeing if you are still getting similar behavior in the latest patch version...
Thanks, Steve |
We have a new rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.
This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this. If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!) Steve |
