No All-Star Game

I thought this may have been a quirk with 1.0.1 when I had no All-Star Game in my league (mainly, I thought I never selected the option), but I am having the same problem with 1.0.2 (12262). My league has 16-teams in four divisions, and I guess the problem is that there is no way to organize these four divisions into two teams without using two sub-leagues (I wanted my whole league to play each other).

So, for another year, I have the ASG enabled (with a hole in the schedule for it, mind you) but no game.

This may be considered by some to be a feature request, but in my world...this is a big ole bug.

TT 1848, referenced here, was claimed closed, but I'm not happy with the process used to verify the fix. I think it may still be an issue.

My league had an All-Star game in the inaugural year (first patch), but then none in the second year (after installing the second). I'm in my third now and am curious to see if it will make a return.

I don't know if I ever had one. I simmed the first five seasons and took over a team in the sixth.

Backup your league, and sim out the next 15 or so years. Run it overnight, if you have to. Then check your HoF. That'll tell you if you've ever had one, or (like me) just had one (1).

I think there's still a bug here.

The International league (AAA) in my universe originally had it off.

I've tried turning it on every preseason, but it never gets added.

I'm even using the IL schedule that comes with the game, which has the game in it.

Not really a bug, more an un(der)developed feature...one-subleague leagues with an odd number of divisions can't have an All-Star Game at the moment.

Carplos 07-30-2006 12:25 AM

The IL has 3 divisions which means despite having it scheduled, there won't be a game.

EDIT: Oops. Missed Zeyes' post...

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. That's a bummer though!! :(

It doesn't do it it with single-subleague, FOUR-division leagues either.

It does make some sense though why it can't - how would the game know which way to split up the players amongst two All-Star teams?

If there are two subleagues, then one team for each subleague, but with three divisions or four divisions in a subleague the game hasn't been told how to split up the teams in such cases.

I made a post in the Suggestions forum about incorporating more All-Star Game formats which would help solve this sort of situation.

I'm not sure what you're doing differently, but I'm definitely getting All-Star Games in a 4-division setup...

Yep, works for me too..

SSG Troyer 07-31-2006 11:34 AM

One thing I just noticed, is that my League Homepage>Schedule Grid starts on 7-4 of the year before. I have lots and lots of open days before Spring Training starts. Coincidentally (or maybe not), 7-4 was the day (last year) there should have been an All-Star game ...

And, there is not one scheduled this year, again.

jbsnadb 07-31-2006 07:58 PM

Just because it says there is an ASG, does not mean there will be an ASG.

My schedule has one listed as well, but I cannot see it on the schedule.

jbsnadb 07-31-2006 07:59 PM

I take that back. There is miraculously an All-Star Game this year. Must have been a fix for the new build, because there wasn't one in the beginning of Spring Training (when I applied the final patch).

My league is setup the same as real life MLB. The All Star Game was missing in my second year. In year three I changed the date of the ASG. My league schedule has a three game "hole" where the ASG used to be, but there was a complete schedule on the date the ASG???

Yr 1: ASG
Yr 2: No ASG
Yr 3: ASG
Yr 4: ASG
Yr 5: ???

Did you make any changes at all to the schedule settings for your league in any year? Which settings do you have enabled? Do you know which schedule files are being loaded for your league in a given year?

The ASG is certainly being a pesky issue...

Alright, sorry for crashing this party, but I haven't managed to figure out whether others are still receiving this error.

If you are receiving this error, please help us try to figure this out by providing the setup of your league?

Thanks,

Steve

We have a rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.

This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this.

If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!)

Steve
