Game frozen at exit, universe now unstable
Exited, or tried to exit from the game, and came back hours later to find OOTP still up and frozen. Quit via task manager -> end task, had no other choice.
I had Quicken also running, and it has a problem with the computer going to standby (somehow, for some reason Quicken stops the computer from going into standby - this is on purpose), so the funkiness may be somehow related. Game runs fine now, but the league I'm running now randomly crashes. It'll load, and some screens are accessable, but many menu options result in an immediate Win XP error "ootp2006.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I'm assuming one or more of the .dat files were corrupted when the game choked on exiting. Any chance that one of the powers that be can take a look at my league files and see if they're somehow salvagable? I'll upload them as per battists' FAQ. |
cbl-commish.zip is now uploaded to ootp/save-game directory as per battists' FAQ.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
Sorry for the triple dola, but I quickly realized this is almost certainly a lost cause - my players.dat file is 1k. In my last backup it was 44M.
Looks like I'm going back a month in time... :( |
CBL-Commish,
I am sorry that it has taken so long for a response. It appears that your league file was corrupted and that you have already acknowledged that. I am going to close this issue, but please let me know if you are still having any problems with this or anything else. Thanks. |
