Text Inconsistencies
I'm not sure where these are supposed to be placed anymore. I'm sure someone will direct me and/or redirect the post.
There's still something amiss with the coordination of pbp and the added hard-coded references and/or sequences. For instance, I'm still seeing a lot more instances than I'd like of middle infielders picking up the ball and then throwing it to themselves for the out. In the last couple of cases I looked at more closely, it appears to be okay in the game log (reference the 5-6 put out) but the pbp will call 3B handling the grounder and then tossing it to the 3B (himself) by name. |

News item for Player of the Week shows an unusual OPS:

As for the PBP, I think it's being re-done for 2007. Obviously, at this point nothing is going to be done for 2006.
As for the news item, I'm curious: Was his OPS for that week over 1.000? |

I had submitted a few posts along those lines, endgame. They've been moved to the Logged section of Tech Support. They're in the thread titled "PbP Oddities". |

^ Maybe a quick swing of the leg in the dirt, eh?
Another I thought was text related, but the more I examine it when it happens the more I think it's AI. Maybe I'm wrong, but if the batter hits a grounder to the 3B with a man on third, I think it unusual for the 3B to make the throw to first while the runner on third scores. I've seen a few situations where a runner on second will hold with a grounder to the SS, but there seem to be a number of man on third scores with a GB to the third basemen. Just doesn't sit right with me as a rule, maybe now and then with an extremely fast baserunner taking right off with the pitch. Thoughts? |
