Inaugural Draft Size
I know I posted about this, but can't remember if it was logged as an issue or not. A search here didn't turn it up. Maybe I posted about it on the General Board.
Anyway -- For inaugural drafts, the total number of rounds, IMHO, should be the number of roster spots times the number of teams. However, I've noticed the following: Structure #1: * Fictional League, 16 teams * One level of minors * Roster size: majors = 25 * Roster size: minors = no limit # of rounds of inaugural draft per game = 50 (25 x 2). Structure #2: * Fictional League, 16 teams * One level of minors * Roster size: majors = 25 * Roster size: minors = 15 # of rounds of inaugural draft per game = 50 (25 x 2). Huh? Where are you going to put those extra players? Shouldn't it be 40 rounds (25 + 15)? Structure #3: * Fictional League, 16 teams * One level of minors * Roster size: majors = 25 * Roster size: minors = 35 # of rounds of inaugural draft per game = 50 (25 x 2). Huh? What about those extra spots? Shouldn't it be 60 (25 + 35)? Obviously, the draft size is calculated at the major league active roster x the number of minor league affiliations, but shouldn't it be the total number of roster spots available (and thus consider the size of minor league rosters)? cbbl |
