highest rested starter didn't start

I'm in an online league that sims 7 days. Due to an injury I had to insert a reliever in the #5 spot of my 5 man rotation. I didn't want him to start 2 games during the sim and I didn't want to call up a guy from the minors because I was signing a major-league ready SP from hidden players, but luckily I had an off day during the upcoming sim.

So this is what I did:

change 'strict-order' to start "highest rested"

Put 1 pitcher on the DL and moved 1 reliever to start at #5

I also changed the order of my pitchers and re-set the number so that #5 would start on the 1st day. (I think originally #3 was supposed to start.) I was very careful to insure that all pitchers would be fully rested on their scheduled day. With the day off, that means that on the 7th day both #1 and #5 should be fully rested. Yet the game still started my #5 guy.

There's not enough information to figure this out. Lots of factors could play into this, including which day the off day fell on, the endurance of the pitchers, whether any of them got hurt, how many pitches they threw, who was rested on day 1...etc.

Plus, since you changed it to "Highest Rested", there's no guarantee that pitcher 5 started the first game even though you set the rotation there. If pitcher 3 was supposed to start and was rested, then the first game would have gone to pitcher 3.

I had 4 healthy starters each of whom had started once during the previous 4 days. So the new #5 I inserted is highest rested. The off day is Wed. and the sim starts on Sun.

Sun - #5 - only rested starter
Mon - #1 - ditto
Tue - #2 - ditto
Wed off day
Thur - #3 and #4 ready to go use #3
Fri - #4 and #5 ready use #4
Sat - #1 and #5 ready #1 should be used but was not.

There were no other injuries, so I don't understand what I could be missing.

I'm sorry that we couldn't figure out this issue sooner, bailey. Could you please try running the final patch to see if that solves the problem? Thanks.

As this thread has gone more than two weeks without a reply, it will now be closed for housekeeping reasons so that Tech Support volunteers can more promptly find and address active issues. If you need any further assistance with this issue, all you have to do is post a link to this thread in Tech Support and we can pick up right where we left off. Thanks.
