Unnecessary Tie Breaker Games
I have run into an issue in the first year of my new league. I have a 28 team major league with two sub-leagues of two divisions each (seven teams per division). I set up a custom playoff structure for the two division winners plus the top two wild card teams from each sub-league making the playoffs.
After the final day of the season the game suddenly scheduled an extra game between 4th and 5th place teams who were tied in one division. Once that was completed, the next day another game between the 3rd and 4th place teams in another division popped up. Again, these teams had finished with identical records so I assume that this is a glitch where the game thinks that a tie-breaker is needed. None of these four teams had anything to do with the playoff race. They were all well off the pace so there was no reason to have tie-breakers. Also, there was another division with two teams which finished tied but the game did not force an extra game for them. Again, neither of those teams were involved in the playoff race. Has anyone else seen anything like this. This is concerning because it is giving a few teams an extra game which can impact individual statistical races (not to mention the fact that it is plain old annoying). Other than that, the game is great! GO MARKUS!!!! |
Which version of the game were you using, please? Do you still have your saved game files? If so, could you please FTP them to us using the instructions found in the stickied thread in Tech Support?

I am on the second patch. I set up the season when I was under the first patch but the issue came up after I did the update to the second patch.
I'll check out the FTP instructions in the morning. |
These issues have been logged and marked as something to be dealt with later. There's a whole series of issues regarding tiebreakers and clinched status in custom playoffs.
I'll move this to closed and add a link to this thread to BZ 1142. |
