New to OOTP11: Backup Question
 

Hey guys, I tried searching but something seems to be wrong with the search function and the knowledge base as they aren't loading.

My problem is I am trying to backup my league using the in-game backup function. When I do a backup, it always fails after doing about 31MB and says:
Backup Error.

I've tried both the 'copy all files' and the 'start backup' tabs and the same thing happens.

Its my first backup. I'm using a Mac.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can you not just make a copy of the .lg folder or burn it to a CD? I never use the 'in game' backup.

One suggestion, use a zip utility like 7zip to copy league folders. There are so many files that it can take a long time. Zipping the folder compacts it and takes less time.

It could be a problem with one of your league files, or some problem the game is having with your computer. Whatever it is might turn up in some other form. However ...

Key bit of info: the backup function doesn't do anything more sophisticated than make an exact copy of your league files (the .lg folder in Saved Games). No compression, nothing. So, you can do the same thing using any method of copying your .lg folder that works for you. All the backup function does is take that snapshot of your league at a certain point in your season, so you can go back to that point if need be.
