.400

Joey Votto has been on a terror all year. We've played 69 games and he's hitting .383 with 29 homers (which is 4 more than the preseason predictor made with 93 games still to play) I know he'll probably average out and end up hitting closer to .315 - .330 but has anyone ever had a player hit .400? I don't mean from historical games, but current major league state with real rosters?

Not in a current game but Todd Helton did it for me in 2002

Well, didn't quite even out as much as I had thought, but Votto still went down and finished the season .362 Did win the triple crown wtih 49 HR and 125 RBI. Pretty good year overall. OBP of .455. Good way to start out that 12 year contract.

The Game 04-28-2012 04:50 PM

This won't count since this player was created by me, but I have a CF on the Mets who thru Sep 1st is hitting .494 39 HR 165SB 221Hits

Game ...

With that type of high AVG ... does that "ruined" your Assn ... To me, I usually ended the Assn, to restart anew :o ...

How'd you get Ethier on the Reds?

turkeybird86 04-28-2012 08:04 PM

He was on the block. Dodgers were in "rebuilding" mode and were basically giving him away. Traded Drew Stubbs straight up.

Not quite .400, but it is getting close to the end of the season. Here's Jason Heyward:

Wow that's crazy. Almost a .500 OBP. Only 52 K's. Beast Mode.

DoubleBacon 04-29-2012 12:47 AM

Well Votto's HR's and RBI total is somewhat possible I guess, but no way in hell he'd ever come close to a .362 AVG. But, it is a game and anomaly's are bound to occur from time to time.

If it's any consolation I'm about 20 games into a season using the Red's and Votto has been God awful for me thus far. He's batting .125 with 0 HR's and 3 RBI's and a boat load of error's to boot.

turkeybird86 04-29-2012 01:06 AM

Yeah, I'm 118 games into my next season and he is at .295 right now. Had some protection with Bruce behind him, hitting 46 HR's himself. Course this year, Bruce got a concussion 13 games in and is out for the year. The entire team just happened to click on offense last year. Back to earth this season.

Not that I wish to switch topics, but my LF Ryan Flaherty has had a very interesting career thus far. I began playing out this Cubs dynasty in OOTP12 (2011).

EDIT: He just hit his 60th homerun of the season. First time I've ever had a player hit 60 in a season [Been playing since OOTP3].

Found his power stroke when he hit ML.
