Fictional 2012 League Budget Problems
Hi everyone,
I'm playing in a fictional 2012 MLB baseball league - I'm using the 2012 MLB structure with two minor league teams per MLB team, and the 2012 financial model, but all the players are fictional and I started with a draft from the fictional player pool. Anyhow, I'm about 3 weeks into the regular season, and I'm finding that EVERY team is way over budget with their current payroll, so that it is impossible to make any reasonable trades. My Dodgers are $7.2 mill over budget, and other teams are anywhere from $2 to $9 million over budget. Is this typical, or did I do something wrong while setting up the league? I didn't sign any of the contracts my players are signed on for, but let the computer set up all the salaries. The vast majority of my players have $480K minimum contracts, but I have a few pulling in significantly more, including two players making $14.6 and $13.6 million each. I'd love to dump their contracts (my team sucks and I need to rebuild) but I'm stuck with them. At least they're decent players. Thanks in advance. If there's anything else you need to know to help me, don't hesitate to ask. -Bill |
Give it a couple years and it'll correct itself man. I know it's frustrating in the mean time though.

Also, what you can do is adjust the financial settings in the game. Allowing teams to earn and keep more money. There are some real good suggestions in the forum. I would copy and paste mine but I don't have my game in front of me I'm working off my phone at the moment, sorry. Hope this helps though.
