Playoff Coverage

1 Attachment(s)
I love the constant improvement on almost every page giving us more and more stats! I mean we are baseball fans, the most stat driven fans out there!

I imported one of my 13 files and was looking around and I saw this awesome playoff coverage page that gives a series breakdown and a season breakdown vs your opponent.

THANK YOU! I love this, but I do have one request....can we get this for regular season match up and even more important to us online leaguers is tracking our overall/career head-2-head records vs other franchises. Is there a way to track that too?

I agree! I love the updated playoff coverage. Makes it easier to track how a player is doing in a series so you can easily see who would be the 'World Series MVP', though I don't know if they list a separate award for that yet.

Ts-Rock 04-12-2013 01:09 PM

I've used the 'custom' award for WS MVP in the past

Regular Season Match-up is there in the drop down. You can view how the teams did against each other during the regular season or how they're doing in that particular series.

Or do you mean how each player did against the pitchers?

Are you using the NCAA as a feeder league? And if so which mod are you using? You can respond in PM if this is inappropriate for the forums...

I tried to do it last year with NCAA/High School and it didn't quite work right how's it working for you?

thirdsaint 04-12-2013 02:47 PM

Yeah, the Custom Award could work but I use that for my Seasonal MVP since they don't have a slot for that automatically. I wish you could add as many awards as you wanted.

Cras 04-12-2013 03:22 PM

I used to use the custom slot for the World Series MVP as well.

But I stopped, because I didnt like the consequences of doing that.

What were the consequences of it?

Probably didn't get enough opportunities to give it to White Sox players......

I meant for regular season matchups, not just the playoffs. like say I'm playing the Nats (as Braves) in Sept. and just want to see how the season stats have played out.

what do you mean?

I just rename the default awards:

Pitcher of the Year Award - Cy Young Award
Hitter of the Year Award - MVP Award
Rookie of the Year Award - Pepsi Rookie of the Year
Great Glove Award - Rawlings Gold Glove Award
Custom Award - Rolaids Reliever of the Year Award

That hurt man. That hurt deep.

No, really the consequences is the screen for the custom award history is lacking, and in order to use the custom award you needed to manual do all the awards and you loose the gradual day by day roll out of all the awards.

Nothing big really, but enough for me to not care to do it.

you can go to the manual vote screen and then have the AI fill out the ballots for you for other awards and you can fill out the Custom Award.

Honestly, I really, really, really wish we had the Louisville Silver Slugger Awards in the game. Not sure why we don't. Any season forum vets have an answer, Im sure it's been brought up before.

Cras 04-12-2013 04:26 PM

I saw more season awards. I would even trade all the batter and pitcher of the month awards in exchange for more post-season awards.

A World Series MVP, silver slugger, executive of the year, split the MVP from an actual MVP award from best hitter award, (because truly the game things the best hitter is the MVP award, it is used elsewhere in the game, at least it always was, I havent played v14 yet....my league is still importing, taking bloody forever)

No mods, I do it all custom/manual edits. I use the NCAA logos/uniforms from the mods, but you have to go in and manually edit them in.

I setup the my NCAA feeder as the SEC (I'm a UGA fan!) in the 14 team league and then a collection of top programs in the 16 team league.

For my HS feeder I edit the league structure for a 15-15 league setup and use 5 teams per division from the rest of NCAA conferences (example: ACC - Coastal, ACC - Atlantic, Big Ten - Legends, Big Ten - Leaders).

I've spent more hours than I care to admit manually adjusting all team names, logos, uniforms, color schemes, locations, and award names (Golden Spike Award, Baseball America HS Player of the Year, ect.)

Then, I go through and manually edit EVERY league's Playoff round names, cause personally I can't stand looking at a players history and seeing something like 2012: won IL Sub league 1 round 1 championship

Bottom line I'm still editing my OOTP 14 MLB QuickStart to get all the namings done. I hope to have everything edited and ready so I can start my Braves season while I watch them beat those dirty Nats tonight!

Wow, that's a fantastic amount of work!

Have you had any problems in terms of the AI producing "fake" players to fill in drafts? Or have you set the appropriate amount? Because that was one of the reasons I stopped playing OOTP13 it became so frustrating...

Also, is it at all possible (feel free to say no I won't be offended at all I promise) to upload the quickstart that you have for your feeder leagues somewhere so that others may benefit from your creation? If not I fully understand and will indulge in it myself, just curious.

Oh and off hand I'm also rooting for the Braves tonight, mostly because of Upton, man that kid has been SMOKING them.

I set my Ammy Draft to 25 Rounds with 26 rounds worth picks, I got 5 seasons into my OOTP league file and had no issues.

As for a offering up my hard work in a quick start, sure! Someone one point me in the right direction to do that and I will do it.
