Help me please......

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me set up a historical league with the following parameters. I have no idea how they work and im struggling badly.

I would like to start in 1997 with the Marlins, I was in the states at the time. I would then like everything to carry on from there. I know how to erase stats but I don't know how to set up the minors for this and have the correct names etc. Ive just simmed a whole year to try. I don't want the computer to invent regens until the 2014 season. But I was hoping not to have ghost players to start with. I appreciate there are only a few players to start, but can I not add minors as I continue?, i.e when there are enough to fill them with the real players, so lets just say after the first 3 seasons or maybe 2, Ill have enough for AAA.

Further to this, Ive been downloading historical logos, jersey etc and when I get the winzip it gives me year folders. Where do these go, or do I just drag them out into the main folder.

Would really appreciate any input on this

Cheers

Oh, also, how do I get it so that if a no hoper hits a good average for the season, he improves, and vice verser, if an all star stinks his ratings drop.

Thanks

Are you trying to get historical players each year, or are you trying to play with fictional players? If historical, you want to start in 1997. You can add minor leagues, but you'll want to turn ghost players on (you can turn them off in 2014) to limit yourself to real players. You can look for different roster sets to download in the add-on section, those might give you more real life minor leaguers for those years. I'm not sure why you don't want ghost players, they're designed exactly for the situation you envision. You can also let the game create fictional minor leaguers and block them from reaching the majors... but I prefer not to do this because it's harder to see your "real" prospects.

If you want all fictional players, that's easy, you just start a season and select 1997 as the start year. The game should import the right financial settings, but you can do that manually if you want.

If you want the new automatic search/insert function to work I think it goes in the main folder. If you're asking where to store the folder on your machine so that you can manually choose, it doesn't really matter. I store mine on a different hard drive and have no problem pointing to the folders to import.

Hmmm, not sure what you're after here. Sometimes players get better, and sometimes they get worse. It's sort of what the game is about. You can always go into commissioner mode and edit stats, but note that doesn't guarantee that your now-super player will play well in a given year!

I think I was angling at the recalculation function, I don't really follow it.

Thanks ever so much GMLoophole. I get the ghost player thing, yeah that works with me, but with a 1997 start, will the minor league affiliates be correct?, and if so, do they change like the MLB does in real life as you flow through.

Cheers
