Constantly Creating Pictures
Just wondering why facegen has to create player pictures at the start of every game. Once it gets through the order it is fine. I don't remember this happening in the past. Checked the person_pictures folder and the players have pictures already created. Anything I can do?

I am sure that you have thought of setting Update / Generate Player Pictures for Each Jan. 1st instead of Always If Needed.

I think this has something to do with away uniforms.

This does mean that any time a player changes teams, he'll be "stuck" in his old team's uniform, but I've gotten used to just force-updating the opposing team's pictures before every series I play. It's not a huge deal for me, but I'm surprised this was never fixed. |

Been noticing the same thing - there's definitely something fishy with however this version of OOTP determines whether a facegen needs updating. I wouldn't be surprised if the introduction of away uniforms had something to do with it, but I've also noticed that toggling that setting has no effect.
I've just gotten used to it and hope they'll figure it out before the final "maintenance release" that's been rumored or at least for OOTP15. But it's frustrating. There's even some times where in the middle of the game being played out, OOTP will decide that all of their players on the field's facegens need updating. Usually it happens after I click on an individual player profile and come back to the game. But I can't pin it down to a specific event. I'll post back if I ever find a pattern or a different workaround. |
I really thought it had something to do with the away uniforms. a few months ago, I had a league using the real MLB teams and uniforms. The creating pictures thing was driving me nuts. I changed all the team nicknames to fake ones using uniforms and logos from the nickname project. The constantly creating pic's problem went away. Since then I never use real teams or uniforms.
