Importing Ballparks and Contract Extensions

I need some help. I have created a Fictional League, hopefully to become a fictional universe but am having 2 problems: 1) I have downloaded into addons all of pstrickerts (sp?) ballparks but have no idea how to assign them teams and 2) I see others teams signing players to extensions but I cannot figure how to do this to members of my team (GM mode).

This game is amazing!

I am thinking my setup will become a universe in OOTP17, if I can import it to the new version.I am cautious now and still learning; I think in the new version I will be enough confidence to throw caution to the wind.

Thank you in advance for all help.

to offer an extension - pick the player you want then right click. A drop down menu should appear and in that list is "Offer Extension". The player most likely will only negotiate in the last year of his contract.

to assign a ball park - click on a team and on the teams home page there should be a "settings" tab you can click. On the right side of the page, should be a "Ballparks" with a drop down menu. From there you can pick what park you want. It only lists the parks the game recognizes, so it may be "time" sensitive, in that I mean the era in which you are playing - but i am not absolutely certain about that last bit of info. (after you down load the ball parks, you need to install them, just in case you hadn't taken that step. Just go to add ons and the install button should be next to files that have been downloaded but not installed.)

Must be in GM mode for both of those things i am pretty certain. hope this helps. Yep, it's a great game!!!!

did a bit of research. You must be in commissioner mode AND be the GM of the team for the player you are offering the extension. I tried it for a team i wasn't the GM of and the "offer extension" doesn't show up.

"Sorry still looking for contract extension page. Player showing, tried right clicking but only brought up team roster/stats page. Thanks for any additional info. HT/ "

it's not exactly a page: but a drop down menu you're looking for, on the individual player.

So, be GM of the team/player you want to offer extension. Click on rosters & transaction tab. just highlight the player by having the mouse "hover" on the name (it should turn a color - mine is blue.) (don't actually double click to open his profile), then with the name still highlighted, right click your mouse. You should get a drop down list. About half way down that list should be "offer extension". Click on the link. (The full list should include trade options, short list, trade options, etc.) Hope this helps. Sorry 'bout the incomplete info earlier. This should work, as i just tried it. If it doesn't for you.... hmmm.... i'm at a loss.

I am in commissioner mode but still cannot seem to offer extensions for some reasons to players but staff seems to work.

Another question; how do you schedule a spot starter for doubleheaders? I cannot seem to get my manager to recognize a doubleheader and use a starting pitcher whom is currently in the pen.

Thanks in advance.

short of contacting support, or someone else giving advice, i'm at a loss why the offer extension doesn't show up for you. The on-line manual says this:
"Signing Extensions

You can attempt to extend the contracts of players already under contract, to avoid losing them to free agency. Most players prefer to negotiate extensions only in the final year of their current contracts. However, this is not necessarily always the case. To offer an extension to a player currently under contract, open his Player Profile and select Offer Extension from the Action menu. Alternatively, right-click on the player's name and select Offer Extension from the right-click menu."

of course, you must have money available to offer extensions.

i've contacted support a couple of times, over really minor issues, and they've been very quick and helpful. i think the email is:
support@ootpdevelopments.com

i only play the game in sim mode, so don't know how you could schedule a spot starter for a double header, unless in your pitching staff tab you designated someone as an emergency starter, but that's just a guess.

sorry wasn't more of a help.
