Baseball Cards for players with an accent in their name
 

They do not show up in the game. The card can be generated and seen on screen, but as soon as you hit close they disappear and can't be seen. There are actual files created which can't be opened and don't appear to be image files. However, if I move them out of the game folder and onto the desktop they magically appear as normal image files and can be opened. Anyone else see this?

Let me also add that none of the existing cards for any player that has an accent mark in his name appears at all.

If I remember correctly..I'm positive I saw a setting in ootp which you can set to use or not use accented characters..can't remember where that setting is or what the default is though, but that may be the problem.

Haven't been able to find that setting but I'll keep looking. However, the game does show the accented characters with no problem. It just does not show the baseball cards. I take it I'm the only one with this problem then? Did not have an issue with '16.

So, I opened my saved game on my work computer (a PC) and there is no issue here. It's only on my mac...any other mac users out there have this issue?

Markus, is this issue going to be patched anytime soon? I'm on Mac OS and experiencing the same issue!

Oh wow, just checked back here because my frustration with this issue comes in waves...sometimes I make my peace with it, and other times I must have a resolution.

Sorry that you have the same issue, but kind of glad I am not alone. Seems like it just effects Mac users form Somerset County NJ, ha!

Andreas, I can add that when I create a card on my MAC for these players the file name has all sorts of weird characters in place of the accented letters. For example: v￭ctor_m￡rquez_2018_all-star.png This is not the case when I do it on the PC. In previous versions it also did this on my Mac, but there was no problem with the cards showing up in game until 17.

The same issue, on mac, with teams and logos where they have accents. Caffé Netuno, it's impossible to autoload a logo for that team, impossible to match file name and team name.

Yes, this has become a major issue for us Mac users. I didn't have this problem with OOTP16,

Howdy! This really has put a damper on my creativity for creating new baseball card designs. I even just got a new Mac and have the same problem. I noticed too that the font in many places in OOTP17 (player profile name for example) is no longer all Caps. Also, there are some missing fonts from the 16 version which changed some of my card designs as well. I am guessing the font changes may have something to do with this.
