playoff matchup seeding
 
seeding is not done properly. example: 4 teams from each of Pacific and Central made playoffs, but the 4th placed team from each division crossed over (so EDM played CHI, and NSH played ARI). crossover should only happen if the case occurs where 5 teams from one division make the playoffs.

The NHL doesn't use a "crossover" - the top three teams in each division make the playoffs, plus two wildcard teams. The best division winner is always matched against the worst wildcard team and the other division winner gets the best wildcard; the divisional alignment of the wildcard teams isn't considered.
