Freddy issue
 

So I'm playing a 12 team random debut league with no MiLB. Recently I had an issue with my pitcher, Freddy Garcia, going on dl stint for TJ surgery. Comes back 13 months later, pitches 4 innings and BAM! Bone chips in elbow, 8 more months on DL.
My question is, should I put players coming off DL on the reserve roster as a makeshift rehab assignment to minors or does it not matter and my Freddy issue is just an anomaly?

assuming it's not the offseason, being on an active roster should be enough to knock off rust -- like a reserve roster or active roster, if you don't have a mil system for rehab assignments.

as far as the ration of time needed to knock of rust relative to length of absence, i doon't know it off hand.. but there are suggestions in the forums. good place to start and poke and prod to see if you can do better.
