Fictional players using historic league
 

I'm using the historic league option with my league and I'd like only real historical MLB players to play in the league. Is there a way to prevent fictional players from being created or used in that sort of league?

so what i'm seeing now every draft is there are a bunch of players showing up with the first name ballplayer, like ballplayer Mcdonald or Ballplayer Jones. How do I get rid of these fictional players?

i don't know what era you are playing, but those most likely are not fictional players. They are probably marginal players that Bbref has no first names for. It was not uncommon in early days of the game to write only players last names into the score-sheets, as the person doing the scoring knew who they were. There are over+ 30 McDonald's listed on Bbref that have no first name, from 1880's into the 1930's. So they would all be listed as Ballplayer McDonald when they enter the game.
