Combining Negro League Teams with a Historical Season
I've had the game for a few days now, and still stumbling around with it. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish and a few things could use some guidance regarding Historical Leagues. I'm starting with 1933, for no other reason than it was Babe Ruth's last productive year and Josh Gibson's breakout season and here's what I've got so far:
- I narrowed the NEL down to 4 teams (Baltimore, Chicago, Nashville, and Pittsburgh).
- I converted the league to "major league" status and this enabled a draft, and held a 20-round free agent draft with the leftover players.
- I set the active rosters to 25 players for the remaining 4 teams.
- I set up all of the starting rotations, bullpens, batting lineups (vs. LHP & RHP), reserve players, and pinch hitters.
- I then went into the "edit league" screen and "removed" the 4 NEL teams to the MLB, putting two teams in the AL and two in the NL.
- With all Negro League players accounted for - I then deleted the league.
- I went to the MLB and created two divisions (East/West) in both the NL & AL.
- Created a new schedule.
- Went through each of the four NEL teams and made sure the lineups were still intact.
- Clicked on the simulation for the first week - then BAM! "Illegal roster errors" each time the four NEL teams are on tap to play.
This was my 4th attempt and the most involved (FA draft and all), with the same result. Something automatically defaults all of the NEL players to the teams "non-active roster." And completely deletes all of the lineups and rotations.
Also, I'm playing the game in "Commissioners" mode.
And I've tried it setting the "Auto-sync Lineups & Depth Charts" both on and off in separate attempts to no avail.
Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? Am I missing a step somewhere?
