Mets
Westheim wont do it, I’m sure, what with jinxes and all.........
But I will. The Mets are on a freaking roll. Starting off this way is so crazy good. That team was good anyway. With this, it will convince them that they are even moreso... |
This thread will be like catnip . . . racoon nip? . . . to Westheim. I don't think he will be able to resist. However, to be even more enticing, you should have named the thread "Meeets!" No one else would know at first what you were talking about but he would, immediately! :)

So far the NL East has been surprisingly competitive in that there are 3 teams over .500 when it looked like pre season only one team (the Nationals) were projected to be over that mark.
As a Braves fan I don't expect this to last but it has been a fun ride so far and for the first time in years I am actually watching a fair bit of baseball and trying to ease myself back into the sport. |
Not trying to spit 11-1 in the mouth but the Mets have had their share of luck in their 9-game streak. There were quite a few games that could easily have tilted the other way, including last night; if Dan Jennings doesn't throw a wild pitch, and Santana(?) doesn't blunder to third against Cespedes, they probably lose. Also one of those in Washington, and I saw nothing of the Marlins series this week but the scores weren't exactly blowouts.
And no, I am still not blown away by their collection of old men trying to play whack-a-ball. It's funny though that they wound up with whatever is left in Adrian Gonzalez' body and the Braves are paying the $21m bill for it. With the Mets, normally it's the other way round. And, yeah, their version of Tragic Travis. It's an unsavory nickname I created for one of my Furballs' pitchers, but d'Arnaud is the perfect fit for it, too. As Gary Cohen pointed out last night, this is the fifth straight year where Tragic Travis (my words, not his) lands on the DL by the middle of May (his words, not mine). Well, at least the R.A. Dickey deal back then also gave us Syndergaard. Would look kinda sad otherwise. |
Dude, you have to be thankful. The staff is very good. The margin between .600 and .400 baseball is razor thin over short periods of time, so while they aren’t the best on paper, starts like this are huge in light of 162 games, when the margin between .600 and .400 teams is enormous.

Don’t worry. I’ll still point out my fav Baseball day of the year....Bobby Bonilla Day!

Mets bopped by Chase Anderson, Josh Hader - here comes the tailspin! :(
|
Looks like the Mets are finding Nimmo, heh. I happened to catch part of the game yesterday; it was amusing to watch him circle the bases and head into the dugout after his game-tying home run, all the way with a big smile on his face. A smile of pure joy with which I would assume the Brewers would not have any problem.

This team has lost two in a row the Gnats. Better hide and wait for better times in 2033 or so... :(
