Werid issue with buying and starting player.

So i bought Corbin put him on my active roster he started the very next game. He was recorded in the game as the winning pitcher so I know he pitched but when i downloaded the game he was deactivated. So i got hit with the 14 day thing. I don't understand? I am assuming its a bug?
