Inactive Player Hell
 

I decided to place Paul Waner from my reserve roster onto my active roster and start him at RF in place of Ichiro. I put Ichiro on my Reserve Roster. When I woke up, Waner had 8 starts, but he wasn't on my active roster; however, Ichiro was. Moreover, the game shows that Ichiro is ineligible to be on the active roster for 5 more games, and Waner shows up in my inactive cards.

When I activated Waner from my inactive cards, he had a 14 day waiting period before he could be placed on my Active Roster again. OOTP pls :(


edit: It was recommended in the OOTP discord channel that I change my "Reserve Roster Management" setting off of AI. I have since done that. Prior to changing it, this is what some of my settings looked like:

This is very similar to what happened to me overnight too (see below thread).

p.s. I just checked and some changes I made to my starters also were not saved. I think the game must have had a hiccup last night.

If you tell the AI to manage your reserve roster, it will make changes.

Same thing just happened to me. Logged back in and Nimmo was on Reserve Roster for 14 days still even though when I logged off he was in my lineup. Stats show he played last 2 games but Marte was back on Active roster for some reason and had "(12)" beside his name. Moved him to reserve before realizing I didn't have a replacement. Now stuck with 24 players for the next sim. Also, I have it set so I control Active/Reserve rosters and not the AI and this still happened.

It made changes to my active roster...

edit: If you read the description of that Reserve Roster Management option, it says nothing about changing the active roster.

I just had something similar happen. Power went out and when I logged back in, roster seemed to revert to a previous state- with some random changes. Left some very important cards off the roster (as in: a diamond, 2 golds, and 3 silvers). Now I seem screwed for 14 days? Anything I can do?

Make sure you have the latest version installed please. With this one, deactivated cards / roster shuffling should not happen unless in some very rare cases. Essentially what happens is that when you submit the team while the server is simming, and then the new league file comes, this does not have the submitted changes yet. Now, usually OOTP tries to keep the current roster, but sometimes this fails or when you log into a different computer, then you will see the old roster potentially.

Keeping everything in sync is very challenging for the system. It seems sometimes this still fails, but we are not sure yet how & why, as the latest build (19.11.124) has many safeguards in place which should prevent that from happening.

Also, please check the Profile & Settings tab for the latest import status. If no error code is shown, everything should have worked.

This happened to me both yesterday and today. In both cases the card had been won in an auction and put into the lineup with a roster move sending someone to the reserve. I changed the depth chart and submitted the lineup. The next morning the new player was not only gone off the active roster but deactivated as well. That happened in both cases. Now I'm stuck with waiting 14 days to get the player back in the lineup while tied for 1st place in a close race.

Manager for this team is jjmcewan and the player yesterday was Buster Posey and today it happened with Tony Oliva who now sits on the reserve roster with a 14 day return wait.

When I went to bed he was starting. I had also changed from a 4 man rotation to a 5 man rotation last night and that had been reverted too. I'm 100% sure it was set correctly because Bob Ojeda had a start last night and he's the guy I moved from the bullpen to the rotation.

I'm quite confident I had the latest build of OOTP at the time of the bug and I know I do now. The reason for this confidence is I had just restarted OOTP using Steam in order to get my PT pack earned from Challenge Mode -- in this pack I opened up Paul Waner, who I mention in the original post.

Same thing happened when I logged on this morning for playoffs. Wanted to take out Suarez but it moved Andujar to reserve roster for 14 days.

Markus, happened again for the third straight day. This time I made absolutely sure I had AI turned off for roster management. In addition, I believe I turned off auto submit and yet this morning Robin Yount, whom I added yesterday was inactive. He played 5 games yesterday and once I added him into the lineup I made no further changes. It looks like it's reverting to the day before lineup first thing in the morning. Manager name is jjmcewan and this time the player was Yount.

Just came back on to check on my team and Suarez was moved to reserve roster in middle of playoff series. Then an auction I posted ended and that player went to active roster somehow. Now I can't remove the 63 overall jose miguel fernandez in the middle of the playoff series. This is painful.

Do you have the auto-submit option enabled or not? Also, do you play PT on a single computer or multiple ones?

Yes I do. Been on since the release.

Yes, looks like I had re-enabled auto submit. I do play on two different computers. Just to mention again, a couple of days ago I changed my rotation from 4 to 5 and that had also reverted the next morning.

OK, the two different computers is the problem... I now know where the problem is. Will try to find a fix for it tomorrow...
