No free agent compensation

I just bought v19 the end of Dec and am well into the 1985 season. I've had free agency comp checked on the financials page during game setup but no team received any comp picks despite numerous free agents. The draft order again for this year shows no compensatory round. What have I missed? https://1865987047.rsc.cdn77.org/boa.../confused1.gif

I've upgraded from an earlier version of the game and no free agency problems there.

PS - An unnecessary comment but 19 Rocks

Teams might not be offering the qualifier contract to eligible players. 1yr/$15mil or whatever your financial settings make it is only going to get you a pick if the player thinks they can make more, otherwise you're stuck overpaying someone.

Game Settings > League Settings > Rules > 2012 Collective Bargaining Agreement Rules > Uncheck the box that says: "Enable 2012 CBA Changes" This will result in all the financial rules that were in place prior to 2012. Players will be ranked as Type A free agents, Type B free agents, and No Compensation free agents. You do not have to offer the qualifying offer for there to be compensation. It's a bit all or nothing, but that's the way it is right now.

if your "Historical Year" value in Stats and AI is set to pre-2018, it might be importing settings and overriding your choices.

a possibility, not a guarantee.

if in season you go and check those settings and they are reverted or you have to change them each year, this is the cause. if it's sticking and still behaving that way, then i don't know. there's gotta be financial settings not jiving... whether the old way or the new, there are always compensatory picks each year, if enabled.. it would take mass amounts of players not signing for it not to occur each FA.

I'm having the same issue. Playing historical beginning with 1986 season. When free agency begins, free agents are labeled as A,B or no compensation. Then, when the calendar rolls to amateur draft day (12/15) all remaining free agents change to "no compensation." Enable 2012 CBA rule changes is unchecked.
