Rule 5 player not returned
Kyle Dowdy is on the current season Mets roster. The game defaults him to AAA. He has an ! after his name on the roster.
I've started the season, he's still on my AAA roster. Shouldn't he have been returned to Cleveland? I don't see a way for me to send him back and when I try to release him it says it will cost me over 500k, so I don't want to do that. |

This year we tried to fix that, but sounds like the fix may not have fully taken. We'll try to check that out. |
Looks like a default roster issue relative to the fact that the current spring training roster that contains Dowdy has more then 25 players and will need to be trimmed down to 25 in 10 days.
Luis Avilán is on the 25 man roster in the game when he is currently a Non-Roster Invitee (this will realistically change very soon). There are players on the real roster that aren't logically on the game's expected 25 man squad such as pitchers Dowdy, Drew Smith, Tim Peterson and Tyler Bashlor who all have a very high chance of not breaking camp on the final 25. Dowdy will very realistically be squeezed out of the bullpen and offered back to the Indians in a few days. We will look into it and how to make sure the Rule 5 guys don't start the regular season in the claiming team's minor league squad. |
