Error moving league files to the 'auto-save' folder!

While I have not had this problem on my MacBook pro or my Alienware m15 laptop I just tonight installed the game on my HP desktop and cannot play the game as I keep getting this error "Error moving league files to the 'auto-save' folder! The auto-save function could not move one or more .dat files to the auto-save folder. Please delete the files in the auto-save folder manually to fix this problem."

I was trying to run the 1977 season. I found the auto-save folder and did delete the .dat files from it but the same problem persisted. This also occurred in the 1976 historical season that I tried to play after the 1977 season had this problem. Funny thing is while I could locate the 1977 folder (MLB1977.lg) I could not find one for 1976.
What should I do?

If you open the game and go to settings > troubleshooting > open folder containing customizable data, the game should open to a specific folder on your system. Can you copy/paste the path of the folder and send it to me, so I can see what path the game is installed to? Thanks!

D:\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 20

My computer's C drive is almost full so I have the main drive as D now. Could that be the problem?

Yes, it could be in that if the game is actually saving to the c: drive, it would explain what's going on.

Can you run the game with tracemode turned on and send me a copy of the trace?

To generate that on a Windows PC, do the following:

If you're on Steam, right-click on your game in the Steam library, then Properties, and on the General menu click on 'Set Launch Options' and enter the word "tracemode" (without quotes.).

If you have the standalone, right-click on the OOTP20 shortcut on your desktop, click on properties and add 'tracemode' to the command line

Then try to start the game again. Get it to crash.

After it does so, navigate to the following folder: Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 20\debug

Find the trace file there and post with the rest of your information. That should have some data that will help us figure out why the game is crashing.

Thanks Lukas however, I am out of the town until tomorrow (just left about an hour ago). Tomorrow night when I return, I will do as you have directed me.

I'm having the same problem with OOTP21, standalone, but I installed to the correct default location
Windows 7, 16 GB memory, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960.

I'm getting this message suddenly when trying to exit:

"Error moving league files to the 'auto-save' folder! The auto-save function could not move one or more .dat files to the auto-save folder. Please delete the files in the auto-save folder manually to fix this problem."

I'm looking at other numerous threads in the community forums asking this question without any response from you. People are having this problem and this is the only thread where I find you responding. That's not good if people are experiencing this issue and they are not getting any help.

I never had this problem before and everything is installed in the default locations where they should be.

I would appreciate a quick response on how to fix this so I can shut this down and get back to my work today.
Thank you
