Crashed on startup flag is set

I have been trying to fix this issue all day to no avail. I get an error message saying the Crashed on startup flag is set. I have restarted my computer multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to different location and tried running as administrator.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have the issue.Issue is on my mac.

OOTP found that the crashed_on_startup flag is set. Obviously the game crashed when you started it last time. OOTP will reset the graphics settings to default values. You can set them back later in the Game Preferences dialog.

I take it the game is not starting up at all for you guys?

Did it work at one time? If so, do you remember what triggered the initial crash that caused the error message to appear for the first time?

Beyond that, a little more additional info would help.

Are you on a PC or Mac?
What OS are you using?
Do you have the game on Steam, Origin or the Standalone?
If you are on a Mac, what specific model Mac do you have? Also if you're on a Mac please attach the Mac crash report that pops up after a crash.
What are your system specs (especially your video card and your amount of memory)?

I have never had it start up once
I am using a PC with windows 10
I own the game on Origin

I have a MAC, game bought via the App Store.
Version 10.14.4
Processor: 2.6 Ghz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

I did start the game, attempted to transfer 2019 game, didn't work. Then I manually transferred files. Game worked ok. Then I closed the game (x out). When I attempted to re-open...it failed. Also, before I opened the game, my MAC did an update.

My game version is 20.2.33

Ok, so in this case the likely culprit is the Origin overlay. For some folks, that keeps the game from booting up.

Just disable that and the game should start.

If not, let me know.

Same issue and no origin.

Game worked great for about a week and then today this suddenly happened.

The trick in this case is to figure out what caused the initial crash.

What happened the last time you were able to use the game, did you have a crash? If so, where, what were you doing last?

Alos, some info on your system can help us know what troubleshooting to do. So are you on Windows or Mac, Steam or standalone? What are the system specs? Any other programs running at the same time as OOTP?

I am having the exact same problem except for the following issues:

1. I have an Asus Chromebook that uses a beta version of the Linux operating system designed for solely for the Chrome operating system (IDK if it's either Ubuntu or Debian).

2. I bought OOTP 20 on Steam.

I just received the same error message when trying to open OOTP 20. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but receive the same issue.

On 10.14.6 (18G6042), MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

I run Linux Mint 20. I found something that worked for me. I installed the flatpak version of Steam from flathub. This game (OOTP21) works perfectly. Took me three weeks to figure this out. The hell of it is, out of my two dozen plus Steam games, only OOTP21 did not work after I upgraded to Linux Mint 20.
