Welcome to WHEBO! (Western Hemisphere Elite Baseball Organization)

We are seeking prospective members to take over one of our 24 franchises.

The Western Hemisphere Elite Baseball Organization (WHEBO for short [ wee-bo ]) is a 24 team fictional universe set in cities based around North and South America.

This is an established league finishing its 14th season. We have very solid participation from all GMs involved. We use slack and a forum for communication here and you can expect to find plenty of banter and trade talk. Message me for more details on how to join.

General Settings
- 24 fictional teams based in the Western Hemisphere.
- 2 sub leagues with 3 divisions each.
- Division winners plus 2 Wild Cards from each league qualify for playoffs.
- 162 game unbalanced schedule with inter-league play.
- Both leagues utilize the Designated Hitter rule.
- 21 Days per sim, Sims executed Monday through Friday.
- Injuries set to Extremely Low.
- Suspensions are disabled.

- Current Ratings Scale 1-10
- Potential Ratings Scale 1-10
- Other Ratings Scale 1-10
- Overall / Potential 20-80 scale (increments of 5)
- Ratings over max = No
- Ratings based on players of similar primary position, not overall pool
- Scouts and Coaches are disabled
- International Free Agents may enter the league from nations based in the Eastern Hemisphere during the offseason. Example: Japan, Australia, The Netherlands

Seeking two GMs
 

We are just about to finish our 6th season on Friday. We simulate a full regular season in two weeks real time with 21 day increments per sim. There is one week for the playoffs where we sim each round on it's own day so you can make adjustments between each series. We have regular live sims and lots of activity. You really get to know your players and can watch their entire career play out. Then, if they're good enough, you'll get to vote them into the Hall of Fame!

We need two GMs.

Las Vegas Scorpions - Boasting the best farm system in the entire league and a few players already making an impact at the major league level, this team is poised to compete soon. They just need you to take over the wheel and make a few nice moves in this upcoming off-season. If you like finishing a rebuild project with your own stamp, this team has your name on it.

Sacramento Gold Sox - A division rival of Las Vegas, the Gold Sox are another team with a strong farm system that should carry them into the future nicely. They currently rank 6th in terms of minor league talent across the league. They're coming out of the tail end of a rebuild where this team stock piled quite a few young players. They need you to take them to the next level. This is a franchise that has seen success having made the playoffs in the inaugural season. Can you restore them to their former glory?

We just finished our 7th season and crowned a new champion! We had one GM vacate their place in the league and as a result I am here looking for a new GM for an open franchise. This is a very active league and you'll likely get addicted to your players as you watch entire careers play out! We simulate a full calendar year in game in just under 4 weeks real time!

Ottawa Lynx: The Lynx won the first championship in league history and will forever be remembered for that. They captured 2 of the first 3 league titles but have since undergone a rebuild process that needs new guidance from you! Can you be the one to hang the next championship banner for the original league champs?!

Great league...commish puts alot of time and effort into the league. Solid group of Gms and lively slack channels.

As previously stated, the rebuild process goes quick with the league moving thru seasons every real month.

If u havent tried a faster sim league, give it a shot...u might not go back to slow leagues again

Team Details:
Guatemala City Mayans have just wrapped up their worst season in existence. They are a proud franchise with the biggest budget and a flock of stars on the roster. Can you figure out what went wrong in 2027 to leave the Mayans out of the Playoffs for just the 2nd time in league history? This is a great chance to either come in and fix the big league roster to compete right away, or deal away the assets to build for the future while tailoring the team more to your personal preference.

Ironically enough I was just coming to the forum to update this thread. The league is currently full but I wanted to get some interest for the wait list in the event that a GM steps away from the league. Team Details:
Maracaibo Eagles have not made the playoffs in 9 seasons after having made the big dance the first two years and even claiming the Championship in year 2. This franchise has always been well run and taken care of by the previous regime but just hasn't been able to get out of second gear since that second season. Can you step in and help the Eagles soar once again?

Diablos are a bit further away from being competitive, the big league squad needs some work. They currently have the 3rd worst record in the league, but not all hope is lost as they have the 6th best farm. Add in another possible top 5 pick and there is some light at the end of the tunnel in Mexico City.

Racers have been in the mix for a playoff spot pretty much every year. They had 9 straight at one point, but have missed the playoffs by a few games past few seasons. Still in the mix for a wildcard this season. They currently have the 17th ranked farm system, which is in the lower half of the league, but do have some potential impact guys coming.

League is currently still.using OOTP21, but there are plans to.upgrade to 22 sometime this Summer.

As mentioned, we still have two open franchises in a league that already has 14 seasons of history in the record books. Join us for our 15th edition and get in with a great group of players, some of which have been around since the inaugural season!

We are just starting the off-season and free agency period today, perfect time to join! We have plans to upgrade to OOTP 22 around the All Star Break sale so you can rest assured this league plans to keep up-to-date with the latest offering from OOTP.

Once you try a faster sim league, you might never go back to the regular old 7 day sim leagues.

We usually finish up a season in about 3 weeks or so, so about 15-16 seasons per real calendar year, You actually get to see your players from draft picks to hitting the big leagues and see their careers play out.
