Tournament cap of 1040 with no players on active roster?
 

I'm trying to learn how to compose my roster in a quick tournament with the only restriction being a total cap of 1625. Using the AI to import my PT roster and set up my lineup and pitching staff has gotten me bounced from every tournament I've entered because the AI puts a bunch of silver/bronze/iron players on my active roster and no gold/diamond players.

I'm trying to set up my roster manually for a quick tournament. I've imported my PT roster into the reserve roster for the tournament. There are zero players on my active roster yet the game says I've already used 1040 of the 1625 cap.

I've probably done something wrong to cause this, but I don't know what it is and how to fix it. Any advice?

The last quick tournament I played in (and got bounced 3-0 in the first round) my opponent went with a stars/scrubs roster. I'd like to try the same strategy but the game says I'm over the cap before I have enough players on my active roster to pass the "sanity check."

An empty roster spot counts as a 40 rated player. 26*40 = 1040.

Otherwise rosters would just be all perfects and leave a few spots empty.
