Retire my GM and create a new one -doesnt work

I retired my GM on Jul 1st and it prompted me to create a new one.
I selected "start on July 1" and assigned him to my team (Penguins) for my newly created GM/Coach but after it loaded it displayed a 95 year old assistant coach for Montreal as "me"

Then when I tried to hit continue it prompted me to create yet another GM.

I created a 2nd GM/Coach and didn't assigned him to a team and now it displayed a different GM/Coach for Montreal in his mid 70s. When I hit continue, it wanted me to create yet another GM.

The GM I created and assigned is with the Penguins, the other is a free agent but I'm trying to make the GM I created take over the Penguins.

Something is certainly not working right and I'm not sure what to do (other than to keep using my previous GM)

I can't use the "Take over a team" option because it's making me someone unknown assistant and not the one I created. Plus every time I hit continue it was asking me to create a new GM and therefore I can't even sim to the next day, it's just a continual loop of wanting a new GM created

Any idea how to actually create a new GM and have it properly take over the team?. Thanks

Can you upload that save? I just tried it in a couple of different games and everything seemed to work normally for me.

Ok I uploaded it as : 070154-retireattempt.lg

If you hit continue, it should prompt you to create a GM.

Once everything finishes loading, it will display a coach (or assistant coach - can't recall) but it's not the person you just created. At least that's what it's doing for me.
and then of course, if you hit continue again, you start the process over asking about challenge mode and then creation.

I made a separate save before retiring so that's the one I went back to (90 year old GM and all :)
This is my second attempt at retiring - same issues the first time, but I deleted that one and tried again.

Looks like it might be a mixup in the way the staff ID number is getting associated with the user account, but I'm not sure why it's happening in this specific game and not others. We'll have to take a closer look, I think this is likely something we can fix in the save data for you.

Yeah, we can fix the save - but we'll need one with your new GM already created and on the team you want him with. Can you do that an upload the save? Once we've got that, we can give "you" the correct staff ID in the game.

Ok, thank you.

My GM is the GM/Coach of the Penguins.

Save file: 072654-retire.lg

OK, got it fixed. I don't think I have your email to share it, send me an email at jeff@ootpdevelopments.com and I'll share the fixed save with you on Dropbox.

I am having the same issue.

Let me know if you can help.
Kind regards,
