Training Bug?
 
Playing the latest patch, I'm running into an issue where I set training to human control, but the AI keeps changing player assignments after every game. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue, or is it just me?

Doesn't seem to be changing them when I check it. You're seeing different boxes checked in the training screen immediately after playing a game?

I posted about this in regards to my AHL affiliate a few weeks ago, but it was moved by a moderator to a completely different thread that was AHL related but which had nothing to do with it (in game decision making).

I'm not sure if you're referring to individual training for the NHL team (that works for me) but this same phenomenon occurs every month with the AHL affiliate even if you have "full control" of the squad. If you wait until the Development Report is released on the 2nd of the month, then go to the "Training" tab, you'll see that the check marks have been redistributed to whichever players/categories the AI decides is in need of some extra TLC. Even worse, if you then circle back to the Development Report, you'll see that the redistribution of check marks coincides with who improved and in which categories.

I tried tracking down the day this subterfuge occurs -- because in my save it isn't after every game -- but couldn't nail down a specific date. So my guess is that the engine redistributes the checkmarks right before the Development Report is produced. Would LOVE it if this could somehow be addressed in a future patch because this has everything to do with player development, which is a crucial aspect of the game.

Yes. If not every game very frequently. The AI seems determined to change which boxes are checked despite my having selected human control.

Ah, I think I've found it, looks like the AI is doing something to the human-run teams at the same time it does the monthly adjustment for AI-run teams. We'll get that fixed.

Edit: checking further, doesn't look like it's doing what I thought it was. If one of you has a save where it happens reliably, it would be helpful to see that.

Thanks for the help Jeff. Really appreciate you tracking this down...

Update: Not sure what happened, all I did was toggle the training setting from AI to human a few times and now it seems to be working. Have tested it for a few games and the settings are all holding.

Hope it lasts long term, but for now, call me happy! :D

So I finally figured out what was going on with this... It turns out it wasn't 2D simming that was causing the training to be reset, but rather importing/editing historical players.

I was in the middle of setting up a custom league, and every time I edited and saved attributes, all of the training boxes would get cleared for the player I just saved.

So now that I know the cause, (if I happen to edit any attributes in the future), I can just just reactivate the training settings for the player/players in question.
