Historical game issues
Just purchased FHM8 today.
Started a historical game for the 1970-71 Boston Bruins. After initialization is done, and game is started, - No schedule was created for the NHL - and I get mutiple error messages in the INBOX, #Error: category not found have tried to restart the same historical creation process multiple times and keep getting this same result. (So it doesn't appear to be a random corruption) please help. |
That sounds like something is broken in the historical data - best thing to do in that case would be to either reinstall (if you're playing the standalone version) or, if you're on Steam, right-click on FHM8 in your library, select properties, then go to Local Files and select "verify integrity of game files." That'll fix or replace anything that's missing or broken.

Which options are you selecting when you set up the game? I get a normal season (with full schedules, no error messages, etc.) when I start in 1970.

Very odd.... just tried setting up a standard game...works fine. Anything historical (tried various options, seasons, and teams) keeps giving me the issues listed in the original post... yet all game files passed integrity?? |

Have a look in your \Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 8\quickstart_games\Historical.quick folder. Does anything in it differ from the screenshot I've attached - file sizes, dates, missing files, etc.?
