Goalie usage

Playing as GM. My "starting" goalie is Sorokin 4/4 stars. The AI coach is playing him like a backup and using the backup who is 2/4 stars almost every game. Since I'm not coach I can't change the goalie usage parameters. This doesn't seem realistic.

Which fortunately we have been. Then I can trade Sorokin for a nice package, or the 4th round picks I'll be offered.

The goalie system really holds the game back IMO. Just breaks all immersion seeing so many back ups become starters for no reason, I remember a couple of versions ago I had a 4.5 star Gibson be the back up for the whole season having won the Vezina the previous season to a 1.5 star goaltender who was in the AHL the previous season. Really hope it's high up the list for things to be addressed in FHM10 as it's long overdue to be addressed.

This is why the best default option is always to be head coach + GM. You can delegate any of the head coach stuff that you don't to do to the AI and then just manage the decisions you want and when you need, you have the ability to rectify issues like this.

But that doesn't excuse the game not working in a configuration they provide. Telling me not to do something I want to do because the game doesn't work right is something that needs to be brought up. And anyway as soon as I turn team decisions over to the Asst the AI will make ridiculous decisions. The lines and tactics screens are why I decided to do GM only. They're a pain in the ass.

I wonder if this is another issue that could be mitigated by turning down the weighing of stats vs ratings

i guess this hasn't been solved, i'm seeing the same thing for 1/2 of the league in my save. any chance the devs can address this in the next patch?

I've been waiting for this to be fixed in the next patch since FHM6. I'm sad to say...saddle up...it might be a long ride...

anyone have any workaround to try to fix this? I have commissioner mode enabled, and tried sending down both goalies to the minors, and it seems to fix it for some teams, but ongoing for other teams
