Why Did Players Not Get Ejected?

Scott Fletcher charged the mound to fight Alex Fernandez, PbP said they were ejected but it did not prompt me to replace Fernandez & Flecther is at 1st.

The PbP was wrong, they weren't ejected.

If it's spring training there won't be suspensions, I think?

There is also an option turn off suspensions. Any chance yours aren't enabled? Can't get to my game right now, can't tell you exactly what page the setting is on.

Suspensions are enabled.

"Benches clear" can be anything from walking a few steps out of the dugout to a full out brawl. There aren't always suspensions.

Our umps are a lot more forgiving than they are IRL. I think there's some cases where someone charges the mound, but we don't eject them. But the text engine might not be told about that, and so assumes ejections.

I would just treat it like the text engine is like what the broadcasters are saying, but they're really great at following along with the full play all the time.

Not only the umps are friendlier. I had a pitcher hitting THREE batters after each other in the same inning, and no reaction at all from that team. Neither did the ump do anything. All according to PbP text at least.
A bit weird and uncommon I think, or am I wrong.

Hey Matt, I just wanted to follow up on this. I play a lot in historical exhibition mode, and have never once seen a player ejected. I've experimented with suspensions turned to very high, and a pitcher hitting like 20 batters in a row. Hopefully this glitch in historical exhibition mode is fixed for the release of 25.

I like it the way that it use to be. Just my opinion. The more realistic the better.

I think there's a clip on YouTube from a 70s game where a hard slide into 3B led to punches thrown between the runner and 3B (George Brett). The benches cleared and the umps eventually restored order. Nobody was ejected and there were the two guys at third base, acting like it was just another day at the ballpark.

I'm imagining the post-game interview:
"hey, he came in hard and got in my face so we settled it like men. Then we brushed the dirt off our uniforms and kept playing. Why would anyone get ejected for something like that?"

haha it was 1977 ALCS Game 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbdvlX1j77w

I have had several situations in my current sim (5 years in) where a batter is hit immediately after a home run.

There has been a grand total of one brawl. The batter and pitcher were ejected and suspended. Each of the other times it has happened, no reaction, no ejection, no suspension.
