minor league player always getting promoted to nhl

Q: is there a change you can make to a player profile so they stay in the AHL, and not get constantly promoted by the cpu? there are several players that I assign to the AHL in commissioner mode but upon sim, see they are back to the nhl team. I confirmed they are lower on the team depth charts, at least ranked 5th or worst by their position

Control them yourself. I'd rather do that then deal with the headache of AI decisions.

You can if you start a multiplayer league, but that's kind of a pain in the butt. I was referring to the team you are specifically in charge of. I figured you were only playing as GM and letting the AI be the coach.

A player could be ranked lower, but that doesn't mean they are actually that low. Maybe a player has position flexibility, or is out preforming someone ranked higher.

The only way to absolutely do it would be to put them on an AHL deal, although I don't think you'd want to do that.
