Brandon Montgomery went 2 for 2 with a home run as the Jays came on strong in the Spring Opener, beating the White Sox, 9-1.

Mike Trout also homered for Toronto.

Robbie Ray allowed only one hit in five innings of work as the Jays beat the Tigers, 8-1.

Peralta is being stretched out as a starter this spring and is considered an important piece of the rotation. An extended absence would be troubling.
