Custom Award Icon for "Champion" Does Not Work
Hello! I bought FHM 10 and have been falling in love with the game and its creation options, especially on the historical side. I have been working on a Mod that has icons for all of the major NHL (and NHA) awards.
I found icons for each of the awards and added the prefix "national_hockey_league_" to the "award" that already exists in the game files. However, it seems that the "championship" award cannot be updated or changed with that same namespace, and I have tried using capital letters. It's extra strange because the other awards WILL work when they have that prefix enabled. Could this issue with the award be looked at? I'm curious if there's a reason it's not working when all the others do. It seems that the user "tomkmb" had the same issue (linked here - https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...ighlight=award ) That thread contains a link to another user who had similar issues. So it's not an isolated issue to just me. I have attached an image showing these issues and highlighting the championship icon. I have also attached an image showing what the names are for my trophy icons (including those that work) https://i.ibb.co/PxKyHNd/Award-Bug-01.png https://i.ibb.co/Ms6q6X0/Award-Bug-03.png" Thank you! |
The awards are league specific, so if you get the "points award" in two different leagues, you will get two icons (and if you have league specific icon graphics, you will get them).
Champions, Allstar Games, Gold/Silver/Bronce medals and Number Retiered are not league specific (so e.g. just one icon for all Championships), that is the reason why it does not load you NHL specific graphic. I think we did this because we only have limited space to show award icons in the upper area. We can look into this for FHM11 if we see a better way to handle it. If you still want to use your specific icon for Championships you would need to replace it with the original icon (so in your case rename "national_hockey_league_award_champion.png" to "award_champion.png" and replace the original one). |
Hello Sebastian! Thank you so much for the reply, it's nice to know the reason why/how these things work. Your explanation makes a lot of sense, and as a fan who would enjoy these custom graphics, revisiting this "Championship" issue in FHM11 would be great - if you see a better way to handle it of course!
For now I can use the fix method you suggested to get around it! I wanted to provide a little extra information as you mentioned that All-Star Games are not league specific as I was able to get a custom All-Star Award icon working with the "national_hockey_league_award" prefix. (I've attached an image below) https://i.ibb.co/MVyg96j/NHL-Award-Temple.jpg If this isn't intentional - please keep it, it's nice to have more customization options. |
