Combinator Changes Coming Monday, Dec. 2
On December 2nd, Launch Deck cards (those that were available immediately at the game’s release) will no longer generate as combinators in packs. Much of the Launch Deck doesn’t have a clear avenue to play in tournament or league play even as a fully boosted combinator so this shift will offer up a better class of card when you pull a combinator.
Q: How will this impact my current Launch Deck combinators? A: It won’t at all. They will still be able to get their boosts as normal and can be bought & sold in the Card Shop. There simply won’t be new versions of those combinators as of December 2nd. Q: So, I can still get a Launch Deck combinator? A: Yes, but only from the Card Shop as there will be a finite number of them now since no new ones will be created after December 2nd. To reiterate: the Launch Deck combinators that are already out won’t be affected by this change. Q: Doesn’t this removal lower the volume of combinators to be created based on the order of operations of how cards are generated? A: Yes, it will lower volume slightly based on how the game selects everything (Tier, Type, Card and then Combi status), but to counter that we will be doubling the rates of the Combi drops which will look like this: • Iron/Bronze: from 1/400 to 1/200 • Silver: from 1/200 to 1/100 • Gold, Diamond, Perfect: from 1/100 to 1/50 Changes goes into effect on December 2nd, 2024. |
Thanks for listening to the users.

Great, a higher chance to get cards I don't want and can't sell.

Is possible to make it so that we can quick sell combinator cards please?
|
Hmmm
I liked the idea of combinator cards, but upgrading them is far, far, far, far too expensive. I'm not going to burn numerous MUCH better cards to slightly upgrade a crappy card.

No, I can't, because they can't be quicksold. |

You can "remove the combinator status" of a combinator card (irreversible) on the manage cards screen, which makes it a normal card, which you then can quicksell.

I would agree that with the admission that these cards aren't playable or buyable to those that use Combi's, that group should QS (I do also believe that all should be QS, but they can't be and won't be for 25, so I've moved on). Hopefully, by creating scarcity, some of these worthless ones might be bought by newer combi players that want to experiment. I have about 50 combis I can't sell. Maybe I will now. More discussion on how best to understand and evaluate these cards would be helpful -- but that exists if you're willing to ask. Overall, this is a great change, and it also shows that the dev team pays attention to user feedback. Radical changes like removing them from the game mid development is unreasonable. But they are focused on the game and their user base. Kudos to OOTP on this one! |
Meh. I pulled a George Wright "Perfect" combinator card last month. Immediately saw $$$$ in my eyes. Only to realize he's an imperfect "perfect" even at full combinators. No one is going to buy that at the minimum 100K PP. I would and will sell that at 100K QS in an instant if it was an option. Even let us quick-sell combinator cards at 50% of their full value.
