Draft Pick Trading Issues?
 

I started a game in 1987. Following the 1987-88 NHL season I decided to shop around Pat Conacher for a draft pick, and got an offer for a 6th rounder from Winnipeg. Wanting to get rid of the player, I took the deal.

When it came time for the draft I decided to look to move up some of my draft positionings with deals. When I went to look at what draft picks I had, I noticed that all of my 1987 picks were listed as available, and the pick that I traded Conacher for was a 1987 6th rounder.

SO basically, I traded a player for a draft pick in the previous season.

We just fixed a display issue with the draft picks, but I'm not sure this is the same thing. Could you upload that save and we'll have a look?

If you look at Conacher's bio you'll see the trade for the 1987 6th rounder made in 1988.

Yeah, definitely not the thing I was thinking of. I think we've had some issues with picks traded in that post-season, pre-July 1 period beforfe, we'll have another look there.

Okay... Also the number of "kneeing" penalties I see in the game has been astronomical. Coincidental kneeing. Coincidental double minor kneeing/charging.

FYI I just started a brand new game so its July 1, 1987. Brendan Shanahan is on my team so obviously there won't be a 1987 draft.

I shopped Mark Johnson for picks. The only picks that teams would offer me were 1987 picks.

Is this something that will continue from year to year or will it self-correct?

There's a fix for it coming in the next update (next week), so you may want to hang onto the save and continue it then.
