League Description:
Reserve Clause Baseball is meant to combine the modern thrills of free agency and player movement with the old-school club control of the Reserve System. At the conclusion of the World Series, clubs have up until the start of Free Agency to elect who their 11 Reserve Players are. Once elected, these players will receive contracts based on their skill level and will not have a chance to enter the free market. There are no limits to how many times a player can be reserved, hopefully, we see some players spend their entire career with one club! To stimulate player movement via trades, since free agency will already be a major draw (no contract extensions and max contract length of 1 year), draft pick trading is allowed for rounds 1-10. Pro Service time will play a large role because once a player hits 4 years of Pro Service, they either need to be added to your 40-man roster, or they will hit the open market. This gives you 4 years of development before you need to make decisions on players. There will be no house rules for the Rule V draft. Ghost Players for the minors are turned off, so GM’s will need to ensure they have playable rosters in the lower minor leagues. Coaches are turned off, no overall or potential is shown, scouting is set at 100%, and full revenue is available. Please check out the constitution as I laid it out there in more detail.

Hi everyone, we are still looking for 11 GMs! This league is going to be a lot of fun. Whether you are a rookie or an experienced vet, all are welcome.

We are still not planning to start for a couple of weeks, but I would love to iron out the details and hear opinions on rules with a full room of GMs.

I will also add, I am working on ideas to ensure a, maybe not level, but more balanced pool of team markets. Due to the size of Miami and Oakland, I would like those teams to relocate to bigger markets. I am also going to ensure there are no markets that are below average. So, a few below-average teams might get a bump.
