BERT GALLARD BW
Hometown - Mile End, England
29(3)-50-13
Gallard had two phases to his ring career. Phase one was the mediocre years from 1923 to 1924 which saw Gallard compile a record of 22-19-7. Then there were the awful years, 1925 to 1930. Gallard pressed on losing fight after fight on his way to a 7-31-6 record on the home stretch of his career. He can't be labeled as an opponent because that would imply that he faced some competition of some sort. No, Bert Gallard simply appears to have been a very poor boxer. He only faced three opponents in 92 pro bouts that had more than a handful of fights under their belts. Those three had a combined record of 16-48-13 when they squared off against Mr. Gallard; all three beat Bert. He was stopped 8 times in 92 bouts but even this is not an impressive statistic given the long list of fighters with little or no ring experience that he faced. Woody Allen once said that ninety percent of life is just showing up. Bert Gallard challenges Mr. Allen's theory.
