Hassen was a hard hitting Aussie that won 29 consecutive bouts after losing his pro debut. He took the Australian Lightweight Title in 1949 with an eleventh round KO over Archie Kemp. Unfortunately, he couldn't last against better competition; losing to Frank Flanner, Joe Brown, Freddie Dawson, Rudy Cruz and twice to Mickey Tollis over the final nine bouts of his career.
